She was a sweet, adorable, provocative and younger version of Mary Tyler Moore (That means she often
had pre-marital sex) and she was highly under-rated and her presense is sorely missed.

A lot of people don't know this but she was the absolute STAR of an unsold pilot sitcom. It looked GREAT and was witty and funny. Never saw it? See it here and tell me if you think it had any potential.

Karen is cute and 'The Karen Valentine Program' seemed like a cute program, but a little too much of a copycat of Mary and Rhoda. Maybe if they retooled it a little bit, it may have sold.

Actually, she did star in her own sitcom, Karen, on ABC (Jan. 30, 1975-
June 19, 1975). She even made the cover of TV Guide during the
show's brief run. The supporting cast included Charles Lane (in the role
played by Denver Pyle in the pilot) and Dena Dietrich (best remembered as
"Mother Nature" in a series of popular TV commercials, with the catch-phrase
"It's not nice to fool Mother Nature"). On the show, Karen played a dedicated
young woman who worked for a Capitol Hill citizens lobby.

In the last two photos, Karen Valentine looks like an African-American. She is supposed to be the only main cast member who is not African American, being of Italian and Portuguese descent.

Karen Valentine was very cute and I like her very much, but I would compare her more to Sally Field. She had a very good first season on Room 222. Her role became more serious as the series progressed. I love the chemistry of the entire cast, especially between Denise Nicholas and Lloyd Hanes.
