She might not give her phone number to her mother, but she gave it to John Tesh!

According to the New York Daily News, which obtained an excerpt from Kitty Kelley's soon-to-be-released tell-all, Winfrey and Tesh, the ex-Entertainment Tonight host, had a romantic rendezvous while living in Tennessee in the 1970s.

But Tesh abandoned Winfrey in the middle of the night after caving to "social pressures" on interracial couples, which injected tension into their relationship, Kelley has claimed.

"He said one night he looked down and saw his white body next to her black body and couldn't take it anymore," a Tesh ex reportedly told Kelley.

"He walked out in the middle of the night... He told me he later felt very guilty about it."

The highly anticipated biography, which is due out on Tuesday, also includes the claim that Oprah’s mother, Vernita, has to call the mogul’s personal assistant and leave a message before speaking with her daughter.

Winfrey spokeswoman Angela DePaul told the Daily News the television talk show maven was not commenting on Kelley’s book.

I remember in the 80's the National Enquior did a story that Oprah and Don Johnson were an item, and the posted a picture of them in Hawaill slow dancing. It was kinda hard to tell it was them beause it wasnt the best pic, but this thread made me think of that.

I don't really consider Kitty Kelly a reliable source. I put her books on the same level as supermarket tabloids.

^ Neither do I, but I can't even picture those two together. Talk about an odd couple (and no, I'm not talking about race here)!

I'm pretty sure it's fact. I read he was on her show once and mentioned how they dated once.

I can't believe old Kitty Litter has written a "biography" of The Queen of Daytime Television. I'm surprised Oprah hasn't blocked the book's publication! And John Tesh & Oprah as a couple?!?

don't beilieve it. I saw on the news that that book's an unauthorized biogrophy; like Kitty Kellys unauthorizedd biogrophies of Frank Sinatra and Jackie Onnasis.

Are he and Connie Selleca still married? Their child must be a teen by now. I can't picture him and Oprah but it was said they met at a tv station they worked at which makes sense it could have happened.

Connie Sellecca is still married to John - since 1992. Their daughter, Prima, was born in 1994. (She also has a grown son from her first marriage to actor Gil Gerard.) John and Connie's relationship got a lot of press because they waited until their wedding night to become intimate.

I guess Connie was a different kind of woman than Oprah. I am glad Connie and he are still together.

They worked at a TV station together here in Nashville in the early 70's. She worked as a newscaster before moving on to Philadelphia. I remember it like it was yesterday.

That's something to admire, really. You don't hear about that enough anymore.
