If you want to see the Golden Girls on home video and DVD, try bugging the holder of this email address.

DisneyInfo@DisneyHelp.com

And they will send you something saying "we will forward it to video and DVD for future consideration."

LOL, you think Disney means that when they say they'll forward it somewhere for consideration? I wouldn't count on it...but it's a good thought anyway.

There's an online petition going on right now to have GG put on DVD/VHS, which will be sent to Buena Vista. Someone from a GG Yahoo Group I'm on started it. You can sign it at: http://www.petitiononline.com/golden

An update on that petition. I sent an email to the creator inquiring about when the petition would be sent to Buena Vista. The email bounced right back, so he apparently changed his email address. I hope he didn't abandon it, it had almost 4,000 signatures.

Yeah, the guy who started the petition actually did print it out and send it to Buena Vista a looooooooong time ago. I think it was well over a year ago that he sent it. Problem was, when he sent it, it only had something like 1,200 signatures. Not NEARLY enough to show BV that there actually is enough interest to make it worth their while.

But unfortunately, I think Andy did abdandon it. He used to be a very frequent poster on a GG Yahoo Group which I'm in, but he hasn't posted in <i>ages</i>. I don't think it was too smart of him to mail the petition so soon, when it obviously didn't have nearly enough signatures.

I wish someone would wait a while, until it has a lot more sigs, and print it out and mail it. It would cost a lot (to print out and mail), though, so I don't know who'd do it.

Wow, that sucks. At least he could have removed the petition if he's not going to touch it again. I suppose someone could create a new one, but it would take ages to get the progress that this one has.....
I know online petitions don't have a huge rate of success , but this one keeps building momentum. hmmmm...we'll have to figure out something..... SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW WHERE THIS ANDY PERSON IS!!!
*realize how obsessed and ridiculous I sound, but don't really care*

You know, this may sound a bit morbid, but it makes me wonder...

How do you know if someone passes away that you chatted with on email, a message board, etc etc. I mean, I had a partner in Yahoo Euchre a few years back that I would meet with regularly and play 4-5 games with 2x a week.

Then, one night, he didn't show up. And he didn't respond to emails. I couldn't locate him. Eventually his email was shut off, and who knows what happened.

So, that's just my point, I guess. You never know how to reach someone through the web unless you know them personally. Maybe Andy was sent to prison, in a wreck, or something that keeps him from internet.

Or, he just got tired of it all and went Amish.

LOL!!! ...Got tired of it all and went Amish.... Haha!

I think Andy's still around. He'll post at the group like once every few months, but he used to be a very regular poster. He also might have gotten very busy, or just lost interest (which happens a lot).

I HAVE LOCATED ANDY! I think! I was in the Home Theatre forum (accessible from www.tvshowsondvd.com) and saw a post started by him on the Mary Tyler Moore release on DVD. Wasn't sure it was him until he mentioned the Golden Girls in his post. So I registered and sent him an email from the site, though I'm not sure what address it was sent to!

I hope to hear from him soon. This petition is really starting to snowball. It's just short of 4.000 signatures. If we can help him spread the word, we might be able to make some bigs steps in getting this show released.

BTW, why on earth is Buena Vista releasing Once and Again and Felicity, while keeping a downright classic series from us? Buena Vista only seems concerned with the "here and now" and boy is that frustrating!

I just checked the archives of the GG list where I know Andy from, and the last time he posted was in August, so he's still around. But if he isn't going to re-send the petition one day, I think someone should. I'd wait a while until it gets lots, lots more signatures, though. It wouldn't really be worth sending until it would be more than worth Buena Vista's effort.

I agree wholeheartedly. Someone should pick it up and send it along when it has more. Because it doesn't seem like Andy is up to it anymore. I haven't heard from him yet though, so maybe i"ll have an answer later.

By the way, I LOVE your site ;)
