(We see the city of New York from the Statue of Liberty and all of the buildigns behind it. We hear The first 5 seconds to Gimme A Break 2nd theme song playing slowly. We then hear Nell's voice as we begin to hear the theme song as she sings it)

Hi, I'm Nell Harper Rolland. For all of you who don't know me, I lived in Glenlawn California in the late 70's to 80's. I promised Margret Kanisky I would take care of her three girls and look after her husband the cheif after she passed away when the girls were young. I looked up to that promise, and saw them through braces, puberty, and even first loves. As the girls began to grow up, they lost their father unexpectedly, as he passed away in 1985. We were all sad. As the girls took their livs into control shortly after, Sam went on the Littlefield College in New Jersey top study buisness and marketing, Julie married Jonathan Maxwell and had baby Nell and moved to San Jose to atend college there, and Katie became a buyer in Sanfransisco for a clothing designer. As the girls left the nest, My friend Addy, Grandpa, Joey, and Matty moved here to New York in 1986. Since then our lives have been going through drastic changes. In 1987 I thought that my mama had slept with a man who she met before marrying my daddy, but it wasn't true until I talked to him privately about it. Soon after, I came to understand that Mama was in love with Ernie, the man from long ago, and the two married in the fall of 1987. Joey graduated 8th grade in 1990, and Sam Graduated Littlefield college. My best friend Addy met a Doctor named Bradly in 1991, and fell deeply in love with him. The the married in December of that year. They moved to their own penthouse in New York, and today they are living in Buffalo in their beaitufl house they just built a year ago. Addy, however, has not gotten pregnant yet...poor thing. As For Simpson, The Chief's partner in Glenlawn, he passed on in 1990, probrably lonely that he had no more family since we all left California. Grandpa also passed away in 1993, and we all thought he would live forever, but he was a real gambler and won lots of money that I inherited after he died...lucky me. Well, moving on, Matthew graduated highschool in 1995, and he and Joey decided to start a group called the Brother's Donovan. They are still to perform in their first concert , here in New York City. As For Katie, she has made lots of money. She married a man named Michael Freeman, and lives in Sanfransisco California, and is three months pregnant with a little guirl she will have very soon. Julie and Jonathan both graduated College in San Jose in 1990, and began their own buisness, Maxwell House, no not the coffee, the ski lodge inn. They bought it and re-named it. baby Nell is no longer a baby, she is 15, and going through the same problems the three girls went through. Maggie, and Marty, tennants in the building I used to live in married after Maggie got a divorce. They still own El Gaspuco, and the building till this very day. After graduating College, Sam went on to become a Lawyer here in New York, and fell in love with a man named Scott. They have been going steady till this verry day, Finally, you all should know what has happened to me. I inherited Grandpa's will, went on a few vacations, found James Rolland, the love of my life, and we eloped. Joey and Matty moved with me and James to a nice house in Buffalo, niot too far from Addy's. James and I married in 1996, and we are about to celebrate our 5t anniversary. I am here today because I am calling everyone up to gather together at my house for Christmas.
Nell: Yes Katie! Christmas!
Katie: Well I....
Michael: Who is it?
Kaite: It's Nell...wanting us to come out for Christmas!
Nell: Thats right! Tell Michel yes!
Katie: Nell I...

Julie: Hi Nell!

James: So...did you call everybody!
Nell: Yup
James: So....how are we gonna fit everyone in our house!
Nell: With me as the boss, we'll gt through it ...trust me!
