Died at the age of 27, suicide by hanging.
He began his acting career at the age of 5 appearing in TV commercials & on the soap opera One Life to Live.
He also co-starred in Sea Quest DSV & won Best Youth Actor in a Leading Rose in A TV Series at the 15th Annual Youth in Film Awards.
Jonathan was in more that 20 films & held many guest appearances on in TV programs. He seemed to have a promising career ahead of him, but for some reason just was not satisfied with his life & progress as an actor & producer.
His full name was Jonathan Gregory Brandis & was born in Danbury Connecticut, later to move to Los Angeles, California.
On November 11th, 2003 a friend of Jonathan's found him hanging by a nylon rope in the hallway of his apartment complex. He passed on the next day.
No suicide note was left & friends only commented that he had been lonely & depressed about his career. He had been taking a drug for acne, Accutane, which might have prompted the side effects of psychosis & increased the risk of suicide.
Thus, a young man lost to his internal dramas that could not be heard or felt by others.
It is strange, since he seemed to have it all, but was at a period in his life that he could not control & could not find relief from.
