Customer Throws Bucket, Upends Straws, Cash Registers
POSTED: 5:04 pm CST January 5, 2010
UPDATED: 6:04 pm CST January 5, 2010
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Surveillance video from a Midtown McDonald's restaurant on Main Street shows a woman experiencing hamburger rage.
The incident happened on Dec. 27 and the video clearly shows a woman demanding a refund for what she claimed was an inferior hamburger. After being denied the refund, the video show her throwing a bucket of water over the counter along with other items, including a basket of straws, cookies, a sign and even three of the cash registers.
The incident played out in front of several unsuspecting customers, including children.
The woman was gone before police arrived. They are asking anyone who can identify the woman to call the TIPS hot line.

OH Nuts!
01-06-2010, 11:07 PM
Well it couldn't have been that inferior if she ate the whole thing. Now if she took a bite and said something was wrong with it, returning like 97% of the burger, then she'd have a case.
But this hissy fit???? Maybe the crazy lady had mad cow disease LOL! Sheesh whatta NUT!

"Inferior hamburger"?? Was it the Angus burger? I like Angus burgers, even though I don't know what she was expecting.
A burger's a burger. No more, no less.
Maybe if the nutcase had a problem with her hamburger, maybe she should ask for a better one, or a different one. Some food critic.
Or.... Hey, lady. There's some kind of red sauce in that squishy packet on the counter. You may have heard of it. It's called..... KETCHUP.

I can tell you where I was yesterday, I was having my own bit of rage at Burger King but I did manage to control myself unlike the person at McDonalds. I guess I'm a magnet for bad service especially in restaurants. Here's what happened, My girlfriend and I stopped at BK and we each ordered 2 chicken sandwiches with our buy one get one free coupons. I told the cashier that I wanted mine with lettuce & pickles only. I got my food, found a table and waited on her. I unwrapped both sandwiches and one was missing the pickles. A simple error (or so I thought) so I took it back and asked them to put some pickles on it. They didn't do that, The cashier slammed the sandwich into the trash can and I had to wait at least 15 minutes while they cooked another one. There was nothing wrong with the first but they have some stupid rule about handing food back over the counter so I had to wait. During this time, My other sandwich along with my fries and onion rings were getting cold. I finally got the sandwich, sat down and unwrapped it and again there were no pickles! I took it back and told the cashier to just give me a small container of pickles and I would put them on it myself. Instead, she slammed that one in the trash and I had to wait for another one. By this time the rest of my food was stone cold and if that's not enough, The shift manager gave me hell for being so damn choosy and that I caused them to have to discard 2 sandwiches! According to him, I did not order pickles even though it was on the receipt as plain as day. This restaurant was also one of the filthiest I've ever seen, The kitchen floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in ages, There was food all over the floor and the bathrooms were a disaster area. I told the manager that I paid nearly $10 for nothing and he was like well, that's too bad. He offered no compensation whatsoever and that if I had an issue to take it up with corporate which is what I did earlier today. I'm waiting now for the district manager to get back to me.

She doesn't always expect one from me but some threads warrant a photo and quote and this one is no exception. The only reason I haven't posted one is because I've had a bad headache all day and was out of town yesterday. Once I can think clearly, I'll see if I come-up with something.

Not too get technical though, but that face paint is actually of a "gentleman" named King Diamond. Not a fan but I know he has the upside down cross in the middle of his face. I'll try to find a picture....
So then would this guy's name be Burger King Diamond??:D
Wow, I'm glad I never had a customer that bad when I worked there. We did have a guy throw a bunch of newpapers around the store, because I wouldn't take his order. My manager had told me not to accept any money from the customer, because he was pretty sure it was counterfit. We also had a lady thow her kids happy meal toys at a different manager once. Right in front of her kids too, such a great example.

I used to work at a McDonald's in the early 1990s, but I never worked the registers. I usually worked lobby (keeping it spotless, or at least trying) while socializing with the clientele, and other times I worked French fries (or, at breakfast time, hash browns). I don't ever remember that kind of person like we saw in midtown Kansas City wreaking havoc at my location in Hamilton nearby.

Thanks, Monika, at the time I was young, and for me, it was good money, but the crap one ends up having to put up with!!
I'll tell one story, and this wasn't as bad as some customers, but to this day I still remember it and roll my eyes - this one regular customer, he used to order his whopper "no mayo, cut in half", which we used to cut the sandwiches back then if the customer requested it(not anymore, apparently the employees were cutting themselves doing it, so no more). Anyhoo, sometimes he would come back saying that we put mayo on his sandwich. So I would take it upon myself to make sure his sandwich was made right. So one time he got his "no mayo" sandwich and left. He calls me a little later and said there was something wrong with his sandwich. I told him I made sure there was no mayo on it. He said "No, they just didn't cut it all the way through". I know it's supposed to be The Customer is Always Right but I'm thinking "You're wasting my time and yours calling me up to tell me this. Do you not have a knife at your home?" I wanted to say that so bad, but I didn't, I just apologized.
Maybe it's just me, but if I were the customer, I wouldn't be wasting time calling to complain about something so stupid. I would just cut the sandwich the rest of the way by myself. Guess some people have nothing better to do.
That's petty though compared to some of the customers I encountered. At least he didn't curse me out!!

I have to agree with you there!! After I left BK, I went back some time later, and ordered my Whopper cut in half, they said they didn't do that anymore. I was like WTH??
When I worked there, there was even a protective glove you had to use on the non-cutting hand. Guess that wasn't good enough!!:p

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A woman has been charged with trashing a McDonald's restaurant in Missouri because she was unhappy with her cheeseburger. Police said they received many tips after releasing video of the Dec. 27 incident.
In the video, which has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times online, a customer is seen throwing a sign and a water dispenser over a counter and pushing three cash registers to the floor.
On Tuesday, the Jackson County prosecutor's office charged 19-year-old Alesha McMullen of Kansas City with Class D felony property damage. It wasn't immediately known if McMullen has an attorney. A phone listing for her could not be found.
Police say McMullen told officers her order was prepared wrong and the restaurant refused to give her a refund.

I've worked at McDonald's and sure the employees can get an order wrong, but most of the time people can't even order their sandwich the correct way. They expect the employees to be mind readers I guess

Nobbody is getting the REAL point of this story, which is "this is a short-tempered world - don't tick anyone off" - especially if you are taking someone's order and you mess it up! If the lady got her refund like she asked for, none of this would have happened. But,of course, everyone is siding with the restaurant. Granted, they're there to make money, but, in the mind of the customer, you're also there to be PERFECT! (and I order everything plain - people rarely screw that up!)

Oh, I always loved the customers that say they wanted their order for here, you get their order all ready and put it on the tray, you give them the tray, then they say "I wanted that to go", like you're the one who made the mistake. Instead of bagging it up for them, I felt like just giving them a bag and having them bag it themselves!!

I remember reading she ate the sandwich, so obviously if she ate it, it must not have been that terrible.
Most fast food restaurants have a policy that if you eat it, they wont refund your money and McDonald's even most of the time won't refund your food or money if you don't have a receipt either(cause anyone can say they ordered this or that, bring the food back if it was that bad)
