Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.
He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

I hope and pray to God that Rush Limbaugh's okay. After a decade and a half of drinking the liberal Kool-Aid, I came back to the voice of reason in this past year and realized how much I had missed his broadcasts and his insight.
It's too soon for him to take a turn for the worse.

I told a friend this earlier. I just knew that Princess Diana was dead hours before they announced it. My gut told me. I remember telling my husband, and my mother on the phone. I knew if she was making progress, that hospital personnel would be talking to reporters in front of the hospital. They were getting her family together, mainly her sons. I have the same sinking feeling now. I so hope I'm wrong. Why the blackout with the news?

This might explain why we haven't heard anything more:
HONOLULU (Reuters) - Top conservative U.S. radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a hospital in Hawaii on Wednesday with chest pains, a local television station reported.
KITV television station said Limbaugh was in serious condition at Honolulu's The Queen's Medical Center after being treated at a hotel by paramedics, citing unnamed sources.
Hospital administration coordinator Wendy Rogers told Reuters she could not comment on the report. Due to patient confidentiality rules, it is up to patients to decide if they want information to be released, she added.

That's something. Still, a man of Rush's fame would certainly have a health care proxy who would know if they could give or not give out information. They decide beforehand. His condition is still listed as serious, and we don't even know what's wrong with him. It's been hours. If Rush was getting better, they would let that out for his fans. Rush LOVES his fans, and wouldn't put them through this.

"Resting comfortably" is a good sign.
There are quite a few causes of chest pains. Many people automatically think it's a myocardial infarction (heart attack) but other causes of chest pain includes but are not limited to:
- Angina
- Stress/anxiety
- Pneumonia
- Gallstones
- Shingles
- Peptic Ulcer

I despise that term. When someone dies from a heart attack, It's not reported as a myocardial infarction unless of course it's on Wikipedia.

Rush Limbaugh admitted to Honolulu hospital
By Audrey McAvoy Associated Press Writer

Updated: 12/30/2009 10:41:20 PM PST
Honolulu—Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was taken to a hospital after suffering chest pains and was resting comfortably Wednesday, his radio program said in a statement.
"Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains," the statement said. "Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes and will keep you updated via rushlimbaugh.com and on his radio program."
Kit Carson, Limbaugh's chief of staff, said he had no further information on Limbaugh's condition.
He said the 58-year-old left for his usual Christmas vacation on Dec. 23 and is due to return to his show on Jan. 4. Carson didn't have any information on whether that schedule would change.
Limbaugh's three-hour weekday show is heard on some 600 radio stations across the country, and more than 14 million people listen to him at least once a week.
Honolulu television station KITV reported Wednesday that paramedics took Limbaugh to The Queens Medical Center in serious condition from the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Limbaugh was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club—a country club next to the hotel—earlier this week, KITV said.
Americans said in a poll last month that Limbaugh was America's most influential conservative voice.
With his sarcastic putdowns of liberal policies, off-color parodies and bombastic self-promotion, he began capturing conservative listeners in the 1980s and grew to become the highest-rated radio broadcaster in the U.S. Recently, he's found a renewed purpose and has boosted ratings by railing against Barack Obama's presidency.
In 2001, Limbaugh reported he had lost most of his hearing due to an autoimmune inner-ear disease. He had surgery to have an electronic device placed in his skull to restore his hearing.
Two years later Limbaugh acknowledged he was addicted to pain medicine. He blamed the addiction on severe back pain, and took a five-week leave from his radio show to enter rehab.

Wrong. Rush was telling his audience that Michael J. Fox doesn't take his medication when he speaks before Congress to support stem cell research. Fox admitted doing so in his book. He does that so his disease will be more obvious. When Rush was explaining this, he went back and forth to show what he meant. There's no insult in that, and he wasn't making fun of him.

Looks like the folks at Wikipedia were prepared for the worst when it came to Rush Limbaugh. Actually they were a little too well prepared.
Shortly after the news broke that the conservative political radio talk show host was hospitalized, Wikipedia updated his page – and pronounced him dead.
Folks (like us) who happened to take a look at Limbaugh’s biography, saw this:
Rush Hudson Limbaugh III (pronounced /ˈlɪmbɔː/;born January 12, 1951, died December 30, 2009) is an American radio host and conservative political commentator. He is the host of The Rush Limbaugh Show, the highest-rated talk-radio program in the United States. It airs throughout the U.S. on Premiere Radio Networks.
That was posted shortly after midnight, EST.
Rush, of course, was very much alive and about 15 minutes later Wikipedia pronounced him so, altering their bio by removing the information that he had died.
Limbaugh remains hospitalized Thurday.

 At the time that Rush beat up on MJF, it was because he (MJF) was in a tv campaign ad for Missouri Democratic Senate candidate Claire McCaskill. He looked as if he went off his meds again, as he had said he does at times. It also is another example of the Left putting forth people who can't be attacked. It's what Ann Coulter was referring to in her book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America. Another example are the Jersey Girls. They lost their husbands on 9/11. They went on the trash Bush and campaign for Kerry in the 2004 election. Nobody was supposed to say anything about them. Why, that would be just mean, picking on 9/11 widows. Yet, they were free to say anything they wanted. No more victimhood. People got tired of it.

HONOLULU —
Conservative talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh said Friday that tests show nothing wrong with his heart after chest pains hospitalized him earlier this week.
Limbaugh said at a Honolulu news conference that he was being released from The Queen's Medical Center, where he was rushed Wednesday during a vacation. Doctors said he did not have a heart attack or heart disease.
"The pain was real, and they don't know what caused it," Limbaugh said.
Asked whether he was taking painkillers, Limbaugh said no.
His medical problems have attracted attention in the past. In 2003, he acknowledged an addition to pain killers for severe back pain and took a five-week leave from his radio show to enter rehab.
Limbaugh couldn't resist a few political comments in the short press conference at the hospital. He said he got the best health treatment in the world "right here in the United States of America."
"I don't think there's one thing wrong with the United States health system," Limbaugh said.
Caller after caller to his show Thursday sounded their well-wishes, asked to simply say "ditto" — a traditional Limbaugh catchword — so they could get on with questions and comments on social and government issues on the national talk show. Friday's show was a Best of Rush special.
Americans in a poll last month called Limbaugh America's most influential conservative voice, and more than 14 million people hear him at least once a week, making him the nation's highest-rated broadcaster.
They apparently don't know yet what caused the pain, they just know at this point that it was not a heart attack.

Thanks for the link, Tweety. I just watched this and two things stood out. I liked how Rush praised our healthcare system as the best in the world (which it is) and used this episode to illustrate that fact effectively. Also, I liked how he took with it a smile when the one reporter asked him if he took painkillers after he thanked all of them for respecting his "no questions" clause.
