Does anyone remember one mystery in particular. I always remember it has having aired in early 1992. A woman (she may have been pregnant) stopped by a wayside and bought a soda out of a vending machine. She gets back in her car and begins to drink it. A man pulls up along side and stares at her. He gets out of his jeep and goes around to her driver's side window. He opens the door and begins to brutally stab her and leaves her for death. During the attack she fell out of the car but after he leaves she somehow manages to pull herself back in the car and begins to drive off to get help. Suddenly she finds herself driving right behind her attacker. She quickly pulls into the first driveway and runs to the front door. Her attacker pulls around and pulls up to the driveway and just stares at her and then drives off.
Does anyone recall this mystery and can anyone tell me if Lifetime has aired it?

Yep I remember that one. I think it took place somewhere in New England. Lifetime has aired it many times. Just keep watching and you'll catch it http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Was the guy ever caught?

Unfortunately, there has been no update on that segment, so this means the killer has never been caught. Most of his attacks (including the 1988 attempted murder of the pregnant woman mentioned in a previous message) occurred in New Hampshire, though one of his killings took place in Vermont (not too far from the NH border).
By the way, I have a book (published in 2000)called "The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers," and there is a feature on this same unknown serial killer (dubbed "The Valley Killer"). A mention is made of the case having been on Unsolved Mysteries. According to TEOSK, no leads were ever generated on the aforementioned attempted murder. Therefore, like I previously pointed out, the Valley Killer remains unidentified.
Hope this helps.

You know, I remember that story. And it's hard to believe that I have only seen it once. (The first night it aired on NBC) I can't believe that's the only time I have seen it.
Can you imagine? Stopping by a lonely wayside at night, getting attacked and stabbed a number of times and left for dead. Then when you get the strength to get back to your car and drive for help, you pull up right behind your attacker. SHEESH!!!!
The woman was driving to a friends house, and that's the drive way she pulled into. She was also pregnant at the time too. But luckily when they took her to the hospital for her stab wounds, they induced labor and the baby was born, no damage. And the woman herself made a complete recovery. Now if only that scum bag could get caught, it would be perfect.

Does anyone know when this one originally aired. Also does anyone know if Lifetime has aired it recently or if they are going to air it soon?
Right now, they are airing episodes from the fall of 1992. For some reason I think this episode aired in early 1992.

I actually have the entire NBC episode that this story was on on tape. I believe it originally aired in 1990 and think this might be it:
October 24, 1990
Reports on a series of child-molestation cases; a Tennessee family's search for a missing sibling; a series of bizarre murders in a small town in New Hampshire.
I believe there is even an entire book about the murders though I'm unsure what the name is.

I know that it has been on Lifetime sometime in the last few months, so chances are they'll show it again.

I have this segment available to view at my site now if you don't want to wait for Lifetime to re-air it. I forgot to set a link to it which is why it wasn't available sooner.
It's the original NBC Airing of the segment, Enjoy!

Just finished watching it. Thanks EOF!! Great segment.
So THIS is the famous 'victim gets stabbed and later drives right behind her assailant'. It gave me goosebumps. It also used the theme which I call the "I-70 theme" because it was used in the I-70 killer segment, and also the NC woman shot in the face segment which is also on EOF's site.
Keep 'em coming!

I also saw a segment on UM, can't remember what year, but it had to do with a man in a pickup truck that seemed to be playing chicken with people one morning. I believe that he then ran a woman off the road or something.
Is this connected to your killer?
