Marilyn Manson has been dropped by his record label Interscope after his last album flopped. The High End of Low performed poorly in the U.S. charts - selling just 121,000 copies to date - prompting Interscope bosses to wield the axe.

However, the shock rocker, who recently reunited with his ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, is feeling upbeat about the firing.

He reveals he's already working on a new album he promises will be more outrageous than ever, now he's free from the shackles of a major label.

Manson tells Metal Hammer, "We've just been released from our record contract with Interscope so I think a lot of the creative control on which my hands were tied on a lot of choices - the music videos - things like that (has been regained)."

"I was so restrained from the music that I wanted to make - what they would allow; they would put out, what ideas they would allow to be conveyed in these videos. At least half of my creative output has been squashed, so now I think people can expect a whole lot more."

Yeah, I heard of this.

I actually liked his last record; it was much better than his one before that. However, it was nothing like any of his previous work and most of his "hardcore fanbase" don't like his new direction again.

Glad to hear he has a new record coming out.

I think Marilyn Manson is one of the worst artists ever... I shudder just thinking about him *shudders*... Evan Rachel Wood used to be cute before she started going out with him, and now she isn't... ohno:
