I'm HOOKED on all things about Anne Shirley-Blythe. I've just never really gotten into Avonlea, though. Anyone else here feel the same way? Oh, all y'all can ask me any question about AOGG, and I'll answer it as best as I can, sort of like trivia. Come on, ask me! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

I love Anne of Green Gables and Avonlea the movies, but I also never got into Avonlea the TV show.
Have you seen the third installment in the movie series, I think it was called Anne: The Continuing Story or something like that.
Ok here's some questions, but they will probably be easy.
What did Diana thinkshe was drinking when she got drunk?
What poem was Anne acting out when she was on the sinking dory?
What was the word that Gilbert could not spell that Anne could? And how do you spell it? (I actually leardned how to spell it from this movie! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif )
What are Anne's parent's names?
What did Anne do that made Marilla say that she could not attend the picnic?
What did Anne most want to do at the picnic?
Ok I guess that's enough for now. As I said those are probably pretty easy, but oh well. Have fun!

I bought the third movie, I liked it so much!
1. Rasberry Cordial
2. The Lady of Shalot (I have the whole thing memorized!)
3. Chrysanthemum (I can tell you the whole scene, including how Prissy spells it!)
4. "Walter and Bertha Shirley. Aren't Walter and Bertha lovely names? I'm so glad my parents had nice names. It would be a real disgrace to have a father named-well, say Jedediah (Hezekiah), wouldn't it? (Hezekiah was used in the movie.)
5. She took Marilla's amythest broach, and made Marilla think it slipped from her fingers, into the Lake of Shining Waters.
6. According to the book, she wanted ice cream most, according to the movie, I think she wanted a bosom friend. I'm not sure though.
Any more? http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif Oh, it seemed like all the questions were from the first book/movie. Don't you like the others?
Oh, do you want me to ask you some questions? Tell me the book/movie you want them from, and I'll come up with some real good ones!

Good job! Although I think in the movie she wanted ice cream too....or, actually maybe not...I do know that they at least referenced the fact she has never had it before and that shocked many people.
As for why they are all from the first movie...I have read the book several times and also that is the movie I have seen the most. I have only seen part 3 once, and I have never (yet) read any of the other books (I'm always too busy reading my textbooks, shed a tear for me!)
But it is evident that you are a worthy Anne Addict. I shalle have to search for some really challenging trivia for you http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
I will think about it for a bit, but I am going out now and then I have to study for finals later tonight. But I will get back to you soon, hopefully with some more challenging questions!

The Lady of Shalot (The 1848 version)
PART I
On either side the river lie
Long fields of barley and of rye,
That clothe the wold and meet the sky;
And thro' the field the road runs by
To many-tower'd Camelot;
And up and down the people go,
Gazing where the lilies blow
Round an island there below,
The island of Shalott.
Willows whiten, aspens quiver,
Little breezes dusk and shiver
Thro' the wave that runs for ever
By the island in the river
Flowing down to Camelot.
Four gray walls, and four gray towers,
Overlook a space of flowers,
And the silent isle imbowers
The Lady of Shalott.
By the margin, willow veil'd,
Slide the heavy barges trail'd
By slow horses; and unhail'd
The shallop flitteth silken-sail'd
Skimming down to Camelot:
But who hath seen her wave her hand?
Or at the casement seen her stand?
Or is she known in all the land,
The Lady of Shalott?
Only reapers, reaping early
In among the bearded barley,
Hear a song that echoes cheerly
From the river winding clearly,
Down to tower'd Camelot:
And by the moon the reaper weary,
Piling sheaves in uplands airy,
Listening, whispers " 'Tis the fairy
Lady of Shalott."
PART II
There she weaves by night and day
A magic web with colours gay.
She has heard a whisper say,
A curse is on her if she stay
To look down to Camelot.
She knows not what the curse may be,
And so she weaveth steadily,
And little other care hath she,
The Lady of Shalott.
And moving thro' a mirror clear
That hangs before her all the year,
Shadows of the world appear.
There she sees the highway near
Winding down to Camelot:
There the river eddy whirls,
And there the surly village-churls,
And the red cloaks of market girls,
Pass onward from Shalott.
Sometimes a troop of damsels glad,
An abbot on an ambling pad,
Sometimes a curly shepherd-lad,
Or long-hair'd page in crimson clad,
Goes by to tower'd Camelot;
And sometimes thro' the mirror blue
The knights come riding two and two:
She hath no loyal knight and true,
The Lady of Shalott.
But in her web she still delights
To weave the mirror's magic sights,
For often thro' the silent nights
A funeral, with plumes and lights
And music, went to Camelot:
Or when the moon was overhead,
Came two young lovers lately wed:
"I am half sick of shadows," said
The Lady of Shalott.
PART III
A bow-shot from her bower-eaves,
He rode between the barley-sheaves,
The sun came dazzling thro' the leaves,
And flamed upon the brazen greaves
Of bold Sir Lancelot.
A red-cross knight for ever kneel'd
To a lady in his shield,
That sparkled on the yellow field,
Beside remote Shalott.
The gemmy bridle glitter'd free,
Like to some branch of stars we see
Hung in the golden Galaxy.
The bridle bells rang merrily
As he rode down to Camelot:
And from his blazon'd baldric slung
A mighty silver bugle hung,
And as he rode his armour rung,
Beside remote Shalott.
All in the blue unclouded weather
Thick-jewell'd shone the saddle-leather,
The helmet and the helmet-feather
Burn'd like one burning flame together,
As he rode down to Camelot.
As often thro' the purple night,
Below the starry clusters bright,
Some bearded meteor, trailing light,
Moves over still Shalott.
His broad clear brow in sunlight glow'd;
On burnish'd hooves his war-horse trode;
From underneath his helmet flow'd
His coal-black curls as on he rode,
As he rode down to Camelot.
From the bank and from the river
He flash'd into the crystal mirror,
"Tirra lirra," by the river
Sang Sir Lancelot.
She left the web, she left the loom,
She made three paces thro' the room,
She saw the water-lily bloom,
She saw the helmet and the plume,
She look'd down to Camelot.
Out flew the web and floated wide;
The mirror crack'd from side to side;
"The curse is come upon me," cried
The Lady of Shalott.
PART IV
In the stormy east-wind straining,
The pale yellow woods were waning,
The broad stream in his banks complaining,
Heavily the low sky raining
Over tower'd Camelot;
Down she came and found a boat
Beneath a willow left afloat,
And round about the prow she wrote
The Lady of Shalott.
And down the river's dim expanse
Like some bold seër in a trance,
Seeing all his own mischance--
With a glassy countenance
Did she look to Camelot.
And at the closing of the day
She loosed the chain, and down she lay;
The broad stream bore her far away,
The Lady of Shalott.
Lying, robed in snowy white
That loosely flew to left and right--
The leaves upon her falling light--
Thro' the noises of the night
She floated down to Camelot:
And as the boat-head wound along
The willowy hills and fields among,
They heard her singing her last song,
The Lady of Shalott.
Heard a carol, mournful, holy,
Chanted loudly, chanted lowly,
Till her blood was frozen slowly,
And her eyes were darken'd wholly,
Turn'd to tower'd Camelot.
For ere she reach'd upon the tide
The first house by the water-side,
Singing in her song she died,
The Lady of Shalott.
Under tower and balcony,
By garden-wall and gallery,
A gleaming shape she floated by,
Dead-pale between the houses high,
Silent into Camelot.
Out upon the wharfs they came,
Knight and burgher, lord and dame,
And round the prow they read her name,
The Lady of Shalott.
Who is this? and what is here?
And in the lighted palace near
Died the sound of royal cheer;
And they cross'd themselves for fear,
All the knights at Camelot:
But Lancelot mused a little space;
He said, "She has a lovely face;
God in his mercy lend her grace,
The Lady of Shalott."
Isn't this good? I knew most of the 1st part, all of the second part, and most of the fourth part. I knew a lot of the 4th because I recited it and the second part with a friend, the second is easier to remember. The first part was easy, cuz it's what Anne says, and I really don't know much of the third part. There you go, hope it wasn't too long!

Sorry I'm late.
I LOVE Avonlea as you know. I saw a few Green Gables movies when I was young but I don't remember much.
Finally, a topic I can really get into! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
I have a quesion about AOGG. Who did Anne marry?

Gilbert Blythe!!
AOGG is my favorite book!!! EVER!!
I've seen all of the movies like 1000000 times each. I didn't like the 3rd one...it was like AOGG characters thrown into a retarted story line...
ok so here are some questions (from the books):
After Gilbert asked Anne to marry him the FIRST time, who did Gil get together with? How about Anne?
Who were Anne's roomates at Patty's Place?
Of Anne's children, 2 died. Name them.
What was Aunt Chatty's real name?
Ok well these were kinda stupid and will prob. be easy....ooh well!!!

I love Ann of Green Gables and the only reason I even watched that movie was because Megan Follows played Ann Shirley. I've watched some Avonlea shows but I'm not to crazy about it.

Walter and Joyce are the names of her kids who died.
Roy Gardner was Anne's beau, perhaps? Gil hooked up with....Emily...having trouble remembering the names....
Priscilla Grant and Stella Maynard were Anne's roommates.
Don't know the Aunt Chatty one....

OMG! I love 'Anne of Green Gables'. I seen the end of 'Anne of Avonlea' and liked it too. I have the third movie taped and haven't got around to watching it. I've heard some bad things about that last movie and how it was so awful.
I think the best movie is the first one though. That Jonathon Crombie was so good looking to me. I haven't seen him in anything else other than the Anne movies.
I think I first saw 'Anne of Green Gables' when I was in elementary school (2nd or 3rd grade I think) and I fell in love with the movie immediately. Now at 17, I still love this movie! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
Does anybody think they will make an Anne 4 movie? I hope they do.

Hunka hunka burnin' Gilbert! I had suuuuuch a crush on him when I was youner.
I liked the 3rd Anne movie, but if you're a stickler for the movies being like the books then you might not like it, because from what I understand it's not really like any book. It's got kind of a complicated plot too.

AHhhh!!! How could you have liked the 3rd one!?!?!?!? it was sooo bad!!! AHHHHHH It came out on video about a year ago and when I found out it was, I pre-ordered it like 3 months early...ahhhh what a waste of money!! The wedding--- ahh it was like 2 seconds long.. and then like 1000 hours were spent on Jack http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif. I agree, the first one is and always will be the best one.
The only reason I kind of liked the third one
***{SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO CARE)***
was I liked all the running around with the baby and those crazy movie stars, and like when they were trapped and Anne figured out how to blow up the furnace.
It was very different from any other Anne movie and of course I think it's the worst of the three, but I still think it has some merits.
Also, maybe I liked it just because I have been so Anne-starved for sooooo long. I hardly ever get the chance to see the movies anymore since I live at college all year long and the movies are home (they belong to my mother and my sister lives at home, so they won't let me take 'em!) And I am always so busy studying I don't have time for the books, and the times I go home I am too busy with other things to sit down and watch a movie. Hence, when I saw the 3rd movie, it had been like 4 years since I had seen any Anne movie.

OMG!!!OMG!!!OMG!!!
I got Danielle hooked on FOL right after we watched the 3rd Anne movie! And we recited The Lady Shallot. We wrote fanfics and mde a music video (don't ask) and asked equestrians (don't ask) and read the books out loud in the library at school. I used to love Avonlea but it went off when I was 4 I think, so I don't remember it that much.
Go ahead. Ask me questions. I can answer as well as Danielle and she's not even here! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif So, g'head. Ask me things.

Technically, Gilbert didn't get together with Christine, he was only showing her around because he knew her brother. There was never anyone else for him but Anne (sigh). As you can tell, I am also a huge Anne fan, I just got through rereading the series again (for the trillionth time).

I'm an Anne fan too! I have read a few of the books, but to tell you the truth I like the movies better. Megan Folows was great in it! Which Anne movie did you guys like the best? I liked the first two a lot, but the third one was so depressing and violent! It would be cool if they made a fourth one. I also watched Avonlea for many years. There's an Anne website that I used to go to that has a huge message board. I think the address is: www.anne3.com. (http://www.anne3.com.) I hope that works. It's a really cool site. You can get a lot of info on the movies, and even see a scene that was cut out of Anne III!

I have one thats 52 pages long, but I still haven't finished it. Anyone wanna read any of mine? Give me a few minutes, I'll post the first fanfic I ever wrote. Buhbye!

Sorry, I lost the first one, sill the second one do? I made it out from a preview for the third movie, the one where Jack goes, "We can start a family," and they kiss. Here it goes, word for word!
Possibility #2
J: We can start a family. (The kiss in the movie happens.)
A: No... I... we... Gilbert... (She is interrupted by another kiss.)
J: Marry me, if he dies. (Then she suprises him by slapping him.)
A: That is a crude was to put it, Mr. Garrison! (Then she realizes what she did.) Oh, Jack, I'm sorry. Can you forgive me?
J: No, Anne, I was in the wrong. Let's just go to the next hospital.
YEAH!!! (Stupid, huh?) This is just a reassurance for all the people that thinks their first fanfics are stupid. Look how far I've come in 10 months! I just realized how stupid this is, I'll shut up now.

That was soooo fun to watch you write! And in March when we read it over! We had forgotten most of it so we laughed even harder! Remember when we did that one where Anne and Gilbert get snowed in Green Gables and they both get sick... I found the last page last night! I think I shuld shut up before I get really behind! Wait a sec, that was redundant wasn't it? Because if "continue on" is redundant, then isn't "before I get really behind"? Oh, dear, I'm confused now. (I'm Fred! Nice to meet you!) That was from the one that we did when we got back from Mansfield. And we should've have finished the one that we did at the zoo yesterday. I think those people thought that we had lost it when we started calling Mom "Captain Dearest" and we convinced that one dude that we were gonna throw Angela in the alligator pit, and I am turning into you! I'll join you in the 12 step thing! I know I have a habit to chatter on constantly but I can stop if I make my mind up to do it! Come on, K, submit reply. Oh great. Now I'm talking to myself! ROAD TO AVONLEA is the best show ever created! It has most of the characters from ANNE OF GREEN GABLES (Including Gil in an episode) and the stories are wonderful!

I remember watching "Road to Avonlea" with my parents when I was younger (I'm 17 now). I remember I loved the show and even bought some Avonlea books. It was on the Disney channel, before Disney went all tweenish. The other day I was in the library and I came across some episodes you could check out.

I have just ABOUT the whole series on tape as well if anyone needs episodes. Also, MANY companies are putting out AVONLEA videos (Astral, Sullivan, Disney, etc)

WHen I was about 8 or 9 years old I started watching the tv shows of AOGG on of course the Disney Channel, and I got hooked, I wish they would play them again.
