If you do, what did you think of last night's season finale?

I watched it!! I used to be addicted to the X-Files. After really not watching this season when it got really strange (and that's saying a lot for the x-files) I thoroughly enjoyed the season finale. Krycek finally got what was coming to him!! The funniest line was at the end when Doggett said to Kersh "You asked me to investigate the X-Files and that's what I did." I was cracking up. I'm going to get caught up on what I missed during the summer, but I'm not sure I can handle no Mulder next year! I guess he will be on the season premiere because they really didn't write him out at all. Nice ending, I guess the kid was his from M and S were saying. And what episode was Billy Miles from because it is escaping me. No cliffhanger either. I was completely expecting some major cliffhanger (and not naming the baby does not count!). From a dismal season that ep was pretty good. X-Files needs to take a lesson from other shows and hang it up before it destroys itself.

Billy Miles was from an episode this season...he was abducted by aliens but then found like half dead in a field somewhere or something...and he was covered all over his body with some strange goo...but then he shed the goo and was born again as whatever the hell he is...bad alien, good alien, super soldier....
I also loved the part when they told Kersh off. He's such a jerk, now HE'S finally getting what he deserves.
And actually I am not totally replused as I thought I would be by having Doggett and Reyes take over the X-Files. I admit that last scene with Kersh and them standing together in the doorway did intrique me. But I think the best thing for the show would have been for them to let Gillian out of her contract so that they could have had her and Mulder both make a clean break from the show, and maybe just ask them do to the occassional cameo with the li'l Sculder.
Also, I don't really think it's Mulder kid, despite what they were trying to insinuate. I have learned to not trust Chris Carter.
I also don't really understand why they were beating us over the head with Biblical imagry...Scully leaving town to give birth in a modern day manger, the star in the sky, the 3 "wise" men bearing gifts....I don't understand where they are going with it.
I do tend to agree with you that they should end it before they destroy it, but I think if they play their cards right they just might be able to pull off having Doggett and Reyes take over, even though I am sure they will lose some viewers.
And about there being no cliffhanger, remember back when they filmed this episode they weren't sure if they were going to renew or not, so they had to write something that could be a series finale, if need be.
Overall I think it was a great episode, even though I usually don't like conspiracy episodes as much as stand alone ones, it was very action packed, what with all that stuff in the parking garage, and I haven't seen a truly action packed episode of the X-Files in awhile!

I watched the first couple of episodes, but I liked watching "The New Outer Limits" better.

I watched it but I'm not really into things like that. But it wasn't half bad.

I went to my "Nitpicker's Guide For The X-Philes" because I knew he was in an earlier episode. It was the pilot. He was one of the kids in Oregon supposedly abducted. I forgot about this might being the last episode so no cliffhanger. I remember reading somewhere earlier that GA wanted out of her contract for next year, but then changed her mind. It was a while back though. That episode would have been a perfect transition to a new "team" though. Agree with you about Cris Carter. Some of the stuff he says usually ends up different in with what we finally see!

Oh, yeah! Gotta keep up with the 'files.
As much as I adore the whole Scully and Mulder dynamic, I haven't always agreed with the directions that the show has taken. Its focus seemed to wander whenever one of the principle creative people (Wong, Carter) had other projects in the works.
(Mini-rant: and another thing, who says Duchovny is worth so much more than Anderson? Why does he get the bigger paycheck? Why does he get to hold the show hostage? Don't tell me. I know. He's a guy.)
I agree with everyone who thought Doggett and Reyes might make a good team to carry the X-F mantle. Patrick and Gish are great actors and they've been given some cool roles. They might just be worthy.

Too true. Remember those episodes back in like season 3 or whatever where Gillian was (really) pregnant so they had her be abducted to get rid of her for awhile and Mulder had to carry the show for himself? Those episodes sucked!
Don't get me wrong...I do love DD. He brought Mulder to life, and in my opinion is very charming and attractive. But GA is I think a better actor, and she is just as charming and attractive as DD.
And I think Scully is a better character. Despite how everyone focuses on Mulder, I think Scully is a much more interesting character. Mulder is very static...we always know what he is all about. He's steadfast, trustworthy, always has an eye on the sky, and is ready to believe just about anything. And that's just about it.
On the other hand, we have seen Scully change dramatically through the seasons. We have seen her try to reconcile what she has seen and experienced with her religious beliefs, we have seen her sacrifice so much for her work, (death of her brother and sister...some people might have just walked away after their sister died), and I think we have seen alot more emotional development in her.
I don't know if you guys are "shippers" or not (someone who wants to see them hook up), but no matter what I do think there has been some very strong hints dropped along the way that Scully is in love with Mulder, but not as many for Mulder being in love with Scully. Which is not to imply that he necessarily is not, just that they don't show it, hence we see more of Scully and hence she is a more interesting character.
Of course that's just my ever-so-humble opinion! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

There's something called X-Files: The Resist or Serve coming out but i'm not qutie sure what it is. That's all for Gillian Anderson but David Duchovny has three movies coming out: My Dark Places, House of D, and Connie and Carla.
