Actress Hunter Tylo has filed a lawsuit against a social worker she blames for her son's death in 2007.

The Bold and the Beautiful star claims Shanna Downing, of the Horizon Family Therapy & Wellness center in Nevada, advised her son, Michael, 19, to stop taking his seizure medication. The teenager subsequently suffered a fit and drowned in a family pool in October, 2007.

Tylo alleges Downing told her Michael's seizures were "due to the stress he was experiencing due to his parents break-up," and "once the stress was eliminated... his seizures would disappear," according to the wrongful death lawsuit filed in a Las Vegas court on Friday.

The documents also state "the care, advice and treatment rendered... caused (Michael's) seizures to continue and lead to his untimely death."

The legal action is Tylo's second lawsuit against Downing and Horizon Family Therapy & Wellness - in 2008, she tried unsuccessfully to amend a previous lawsuit to include a wrongful death claim.

OMG, I f*&king hate it when people sue over someone's death when it was out of anyone's control. I can somewhat understand if they were murdered or something, but in this case and someone like John Ritter's case, it was just their time. Take some time to get some therapy and try to deal instead of blaming people and getting money from them because it's not bringing them back. Dumb s#$ts!!!

That's how I feel about it, too. No matter how many lawsuits you file, no matter how much money is involved, it won't bring back the dead. ohno:

I do wonder if there is truth to Hunter's claims about the social worker. If it is true than the social worker is partially to blame but at the same Michael was already 19 and knew better about taking medications. I also agree with other posters wrongful death suits can be frivolous in a lot of cases. I agree with sunshinefizzy murder and drunk driving deaths are understandable for wrongful death suits.

i believe she's filed numerous lawsuits, not just this one. Its a shame that she lost her son though, that part is sad.

She sued Aaron Spelling when she was fired from Melrose Place after getting pregnant. Her replacement was Lisa Rinna, who after landing the role...got pregnant!
