This is a thread for movies that seem just like books, and are not related to each other. :)
I think Swimfan is a lot like R.L. Stine's The Girlfriend. In The Gilrfriend, the popular football player named Scotty cheats on his girlfriend wheile she is away in Europe for a weekend with some random chick that showed up in his driveway, claiming to have a flat tire on her bike. They somehow end up going on a date and making out all night long. Scott thinks that this was just a one time fling and make out session, to pass the time while his girlfriend is away..His girlfriend comes back. He tells Lori, the "buddy" that this was just a way to pass the time while his girlfriend was away , but Lori thinks that this was something a lot more, and begins stalking poor Scotty around and hurts the girlfriend and kills Scottys pets and breaks Scotty's fingers when Scotty tells her to f.....off. Finally, Lori gets put in a mental institution.
This seems a lot like Swimfan. A popular swimmer cheats on his girlfriend when she is away with some random girl at school. They had sex together, but it was a one time thing to him. She begins stalking him and tries to kill his girlfriend, until she is finally killed at the end.
You see how the The Girlfriend and Swimfan seem alike? They aren't related to each other.....:cool:
