Its nice to know whats going on. I'm so anxious for this to be released, but like I said with Lucy, I'm glad M.P.I. is taking the time to make this a great set. LOADED WITH EXTRAS! , and remastered episodes! I like hearing that!:)

It's a dumb move for them to change the coverart. The early cover in the MPI insert was perfect. They should not even think about changing it.

As far as the delay goes, I think sales are gonna tank on this set. MPI has had many people asking about this show and they included previews in their recent "Lucy" releases. To delay it THAT long is like trying to make it unsuccessful. I understand why they are doing it but c'mon...April, May or June 2010?!?! Are they serious? Most people that were interested in those previews probably won't remember about it by then. I have other shows that I am catching up on now. By the time it comes out, I'll probably pass.

But I'm glad for you die-hard fans. I'm sure this waiting is agonizing. I hope it's worth it and they don't screw this up.

I don't view this as a delay as there was never a release date announced in the beginning. The entire time it was a "coming soon" attached with this title. Besides, a release like "The Mothers-In-Law" will be for the die-hards as I can't see the casual DVD buying public picking this up. I believe that outside of Desi's name, most people will be like "WTH is this?" Some would probably remember Eve Arden, but even then an agrument could be that instead of this series her work from TV should be recognized with "Our Miss Brooks" instead. This release is aimed at a very small fan base for a release like this - something that MPI is fantastic at, releasing titles geared for a niche market. I would much rather wait and get a fantastic release then something rushed and be disappionted with it. (And then read the complaints about how it COULD have been so much better if they would have just taken their time with it.)

It's obvious that this is being released inconjunction with Lucie and Desi Arnaz, Jr, and their parents' estates. With the release of the Lucy specials and Here's Lucy, there's a lot of other places to be focused on at this time. If the release date stays around the time as stated in the article, then that will fit in with about the time I figured it would have been released - in the middle of the releases for Here's Lucy."

I completely disagree! This is a show I WILL buy. MPI is committed to doing this RIGHT, just like Here's Lucy.

Let me give you examples showsI pass on: Vegas: Season 1, Volume 1; My Three Sons: Season 1 Volume 1. HALF SEASONS! NO EXTRAS! , NO THANX! YOU GO M.P.I!

Actually, I had never heard of this show before and I was going to pick it up if it was readily available. So I think some casual buyers could find interest in it as I did. I was looking for something new to get into and would have bought it as my next series to watch. But I've had to choose something else since it didn't come out before the end of the year as they had indicated before. So, I'm sure a lot of other people saw the preview or the insert and were wondering why it isn't listed anywhere to buy. For me, it's not a big deal. It's just something I'll hold off on seeing for a few years. It's not going to be a "run out and buy" set. I just hate to see other fans wait long period of time. I know how that feels. I've been through several delays. In the end, I'm sure it will be a great set for you guys. :)

Robert , I hope you eventually get this show next year. I think you and all Lucy fans will be surprised how much you enjoy it. Eve and Kaye get into Lucy & Ethel type adventures, and yet they're different enough to be funny in their own right! :)

I wasn't gonna get this one right away, but I'm sure I might swing in it when it does come out at last. Never saw this in syndication, except for the rare times a few episodes ran on the weekends on World Harvest TV (back in the 90s sometimes).

I used to watch Mothers In Law when it aired on NBC in the late 60's, the good ol' days. Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard carried the show, the supporting cast wasn't as good. Overall it was a decent show, the 1st season was better than the 2nd. I'll probably buy this whenever the DVD comes out, it's always good when an old show like this that hasn't aired for years on TV gets a new life on DVD.

Still good news. I liked this show when it originally aired, especially the theme.
