The Sept. 30 episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine examines the possibility of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character dying!

“Julia’s character has a health scare,” reveals Hamish Linklater, who play Christine’s brother, Matthew. “Julia gets naked and Richard thinks she’s dying as a result.”

Clark Gregg, who plays Christine’s ex-husband, Richard, adds that the drama begins when his character moves in with Christine after he and 'new' Christine split. “Christine and Richard are naked together in the bathroom which is not at all arousing to me in any way until we find a strange looking mole on her lower breast and decide that she might be dying,” says Clark. “And then I get turned on.”

The situation will become further complicated when Richard tries to win new Christine back, but lets slip that he saw his ex in the buff.

That won’t go well, leading Richard to explore other romantic options in future episodes – including a “slightly frightening date” with a new character played by Clark’s real-life wife, Jennifer Grey. “We’ve been waiting for the right role for her,” says Clark. Fortunately, Jennifer's episode is still a month away from shooting which will give the actress ample time to mourn the passing of her Dirty Dancing co-star Patrick Swayze.

As for Christine, chances are she'll get a clean bill of health!

That is an incredibly tacky thing for TV Guide to say. Pardon my language, but how in the hell do they know what "ample time to mourn" is?

Honestly this "health scare" sounds like an attempt to make something funny out of something that isn't at all. My mom has breast cancer and the mamogram didn't find the lump. She found it through a self-exam. If they make it a serious episode, then it's fine, but I hope that what I think will happen doesn't.

And of course Christine is going to live! How stupid to have a health scare for the show's namesake! I guess they do whatever it takes to get ratings!

Obviously Christine isn't going to die since her character's name is in the title. That being said I hope they do take the subject matter seriously. Maybe even use this as an opportunity to promote mammograms and doctors visits etc.

Well, I guess TV Guide magazine has spilled the beans as far as how the season premier will play out, with Richard and new Christine not getting married. They could have waited to publish this article a bit later.
