Which version of Aerosmith do you perfer? There is the Aerosmith of the 1970's who put out classic blues-rock materpieces such as Toys in the Attic and Rocks or the MTV friendly Aerosmith of the late 80's and 90's who released the glossey albums Permanent Vacation, Pump and Get A Grip.
I perfer the 1970's Aerosmith. There was a magic to the music that was lost when they started working with outside songwriters and polished up their sound to appeal to the MTV generation. I think their only truly great post 1980 album is 1989's Pump (with "Janie's Got A Gun" and "Love in an Elevator") even though there were other great songs on the post 80 albums like "Dude (Looks Like A Lady", "Angel", "Eat the Rich", and "Livin' on the Edge". Though I still can't stomach "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing".
