Man, I loved this show when I was kid. I just wish it was still in reruns. I wonder who has the rights? Is it available on video?

I have a few episodes taped. One in particular I call the "Sleep Teaching" episode, where Bob gets his tapes mixed up when trying to learn Swedish, I think, to impress a girl and learns German instead. What a crackup! I always thought this show was underrated - Bob Cummings did a great job doubling as Grandpa, the plots were always funny, Chuck (Dwayne Hickman) was trying to be a young Bob with the girls, who were gorgeous (wonder what they look like now?), etc etc. If anyone knows where I can buy more episode tapes, please let me know!

This is probably my all-time favorite show. They used to air it on local TV station 39, but it's probably been 10 years since I've seen it broadcast. I did see one accidentally broadcast complete in its original form: 'The Bob Cummings Show', complete with Winston cigarette sponsorship messages at the beginning and end of the show!

What irks me is that most of the ones I have seen, I have seen at least 3 or 4 times, yet I know I have seen less than half the episodes! Wish I could see more of 'em.

I've always been puzzled why this show, very popular in its time, has not done better in syndication or been more fondly remembered.

Ciao,

Richard

Actually, the show did well in reruns, where its name was changed to Love That Bob (for whatever reason).
