Amy Poehler returns to 'Weeknd Update'

Amy Poehler returns to the "Weekend Update" desk this fall, appearing in the first two editions of "Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update Thursday."
Poehler, who had already reunited with former "Weekend Update" co-anchor Seth Meyers on the season finale of "SNL" last spring, will once again join him at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 and again on Sept. 24.

Season two preem of Poehler's Peacock sitcom "Parks and Recreation" airs at 8:30 p.m. those same nights.

Poehler earned an Emmy nom - her second consecutive one - earlier this month for her performance on "SNL."

I wish they'd focus on revitalizing Saturday Night Live, rather than spinning off the "Weekend Update" segment. That show has been going downhill for years.

I haven't seen Amy's new sitcom yet. Hopefully, it's better than SNL. Then again, that wouldn't be very hard to do these days.
