NEW YORK - ACTRESS Sarah Jessica Parker and her partner Matthew Broderick are planning to live apart, said media reports on Wednesday.
According to entertainment website Bang Showbiz, the pair will live in different properties in New York.
Broderick wants to stay in Manhattan but Parker wants to move herself and the couple's children to Brooklyn.
"It would be a surprising decision to make so soon after the arrival of their twins,' a source is reported as saying.
'Having the babies born healthy and happy was a dream come true, so it's strange that they might have to spend some time apart at this stage.
'No one can quite believe it, but it's clear they're making the right decision for all the right reasons." -- REUTERS

The timing is horrible. So soon after the twins were born. I hope they know what they are doing.

How strange! However, I know two couples from work who did this very thing. This man and woman both worked in the same department. I guess she got a job in Vegas, so they were going to move there. She ended up moving and he still works in our office in Seattle, although I don't see him as much anymore. Far as I know, things are still okay in the marriage department.
Another woman that I used to work with had invited me to a birthday party at her house. Turns out that she had been working in DC for a while and I was told that her husband didn't want to move back there so I guess she lives in the DC area and comes home on weekends to see her husband. So I guess situations like this can work out. I'm hoping this is the case with Matthew and Sarah. It doesn't seem like they would split so soon after the babies are born. Actually I can't ever see them separating, because their marriage always seemed so happy and they are one of the few couples with longevity. However in Hollywood, separations are the norm.

Poor kids is right. I wish they would've made up their minds before the twins.

Exactly. The kids are always the ones who lose in situations like this. ohno:
Sounds to me like the beginning of the end for these two.
I've read some stories in the local papers that things have been strained between these two for a few years, and I was surprised when I heard they were adopting twins. Not the best way to keep a shaky marriage together.
When Dad wants to stay in the city instead of taking a car to Brooklyn to hang with Mom and the Kids, yu know things are not going well.

Poor kids?????? Ummm, I can think of many kids who have it way worse than being born to millionaire celebrities who are living in million dollar homes a few miles apart. I think the kids will be fine.

Oh yeah, rich people don't have feelings.
Divorce is hard on every child whether they have a trust fund or a food stamp.
