NFL Draft Moved to Prime Time
The first round of next year's NFL draft will be in prime time on a Thursday night, the league announced Thursday.

The second and third rounds will be the following night, a Friday, and the draft will be completed with the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday.

The draft will run April 22 through 24, according to the NFL's announcement.

The first round is to begin Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The second round starts Friday at 6:30 p.m., and the fourth round commences Saturday at 10 a.m.

The draft again is to be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

It has been clear since last year, when the league implemented speed-up rules to shorten the draft, that the NFL would move the event to prime time at some point.

"We continue to look for ways to make the draft more accessible to more fans," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a written statement. "Moving the first round to prime time on Thursday night will make the first round of the draft available to fans on what is typically the most-watched night of television."
