Harper's Island is about a group of family and friends (Elaine Cassidy, Christopher Gorham, Katie Cassidy, Adam Campbell, Harry Hamlin, Jim Beaver) who travel to a secluded island off the coast of Seattle for a destination wedding. This island is famous for a streak of unsolved murders from seven years ago.

In every episode, someone is killed and every person is a suspect, from the wedding party to the island locals. Old conflicts bubble up to the surface as everyone becomes a suspect, and bonds of love and family are tested as the murderer continues to pick off guests, leaving everyone in a battle for survival against an unknown killer.

By the end of the 13 episodes, all questions will be answered, the killer will be revealed and only a few will survive. Harper's Island aired on CBS in 2009.

I like the cover art. I will probably get this on DVD even I hated the last two episodes. I also think Chiller will probably air this show sometime in the future.

I bought this on Saturday. A Wal-Mart in my city for some reason was selling sets before the release date. Some of the deleted scenes give more background to some characters. I haven't watched any of the other features.

Yeah, I have heard of some stores who release items before they are officially out.

Years ago I bought The Punisher (2004) a week before the DVD date from Costco. The DVD had a bonus 3 track CD inside from the movie soundtrack with the Costco logo on it.

Sometimes they are released early as exclusives and some are mistakes.

I really enjoyed Harper's Island. I love the concept of a mystery that wraps up quickly rather than a long, drawn out puzzle (Lost). I hope it's success will bring more shows of this type to the airwaves.

I agree with you I wish there more shows like Harper's Island on TV. I'm tired of the countless shows about doctors, cops and lawyers. The ABC show Happy Town is supposed to debut midseason. It's mystery show about child kidnappings that happened years ago in a Minnesota town while intertwined with the arrrival of a mysterious woman.
