I love how my house looks and smells after I get it all cleaned up. Everything is so fresh and clean. Now I just have to see how long it stays this way before the kids start dragging out toys and things.

I just had the best laugh I've had in a long time! This girl I used to know has dedicated her entire Live Journal account to bashing me. The sad part is, she's nearly 40 years old. No wonder she's never moved out of her parents house, who else would put up with her?

Echoing Kyle's comments about it being good that you're able to laugh about it. If it were me, I would probably be able to laugh about it further down the line, but at first I would be very angry and upset.

I'm glad you can laugh about it! And plus, you should feel pretty special since she's dedicating her time to YOU! I mean, you've got to be pretty awesome and important for her to be jealous even to dedicate a whole livejournal to you! (But...I know you're awesome, without having to do that!) ;)

This is SO cool! There is this book I have been looking for forever, called Singing with the Top Down. I've read it twice and absolutely love it. Anyway, my husband and I went into Half Price Books because I had a ton of VHS movies to sell. Only got $2 for all of them, but I really just wanted to get rid of them, since I have them on DVD now. Anyway, I was looking around while they were looking at the stuff I was selling back, and by chance, I wandered over to the literature section and found a brand new copy of Singing with the Top Down for only $6.50!! And then I went over to the DVD section and found the Growing Pains Season 1 set, still in the shrink wrap, for only $9.99!! Man, that was too good to pass up!!!! Talk about a cool Saturday!!!

Yes it does. I've never had a better day than I did yesterday. I felt so accomplished and even better, my whole family was just as happy as I was. It felt really good after so many months of nonsense from my parents and other relatives who don't even know me personally(who BTW didn't believe I was capable of finding a job, I told them off last night and that felt even better).

Had a nice weekend. Marvin and I listened to music Saturday night, had a few drinks, ate a delicious steak with corn on the cob for a side and today we spent the day poolside. A very relaxing weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to spend a quiet day studying my phlebotomy book. Just have a cup of tea at my side and take notes and try the practice tests.

yay!!! i've done so good making payments on my credi card that they upped my credit line from $300 to $500! when i met marvin i had very bad credit and he put me on all his credit cards and through sharing his accounts with him, it boosted my credit ratings and back in january i was able to get my very own card!

marvin has really changed my life for the better in a lot of ways. when we first met, i couldn't hold down a job for more than a year. i was so flighty and i'd just up and quit when the mood struck. i had no sense of responsibility. even though i hate my job now, i've been with it for 4 years and now i'm going to be going to school and having a real career. my life has really turned around.

got my wii fit the other day and played it for the first time today. i did the hula-hoops and got up to 226 spins and caught about 4 or 5 hoops over my head. then i did the running in place and the step aerobics, though the latter was kind of hard for me. it went too fast and i lack the coordination to get the footwork right lol i guess mastering it will be my challenge. then i did the boxing on wii sports and won 2 rounds. it was a great workkout. i set a goal to lose 3 pounds in 2 weeks so i hope i make it. aside from the wii fit, i'm going to watch what i eat and how much i eat as well as walk around my neighborhood everyday. i ordered those skechers shape ups, the sneakers with the curved soles and am going to use them when i take my walks.

only thing is i thought the wii fit kind of said some rude things if a video game can be rude that is lol for instance when i stepped on the balance board to be weighed it said something like "i wasn't expecting that". i was like "you talking to me? how would you like your batteries removed?" lol

then i did some balance test and it said "i guess balancing is not your forte. do you fall on your face a lot when walking?" i was like "say what? how would you like to fall straight into my garbage can?"lol

Today was my baby nephew Ryan's baptism. That kid is like a cat - he HATES water. Can't stand bathtime so you can guess how he reacted to having the water poured on his head.  He SCREAMED!! Other than that, the baptism and reception afterwards all went well. :D

I'm going to Church tomorrow for the first time in over two years, and I'm really excited about it. :) I hate what I have become over the last several months, well actually over the last couple years, but even moreso over the last few months, and I know that going to Church will help me to get back on the right path again. It should be fun.
That's awesome, Brad. :D

monika - i'm glad you were well enough to make it to your nephews baptism. i hope you keep feeling better.

cathy - we had the same weather. marvin even turned off the a/c and just opened the windows and let the breeze in.

brad- i hope you enjoyed going to church. i'm sure being back will bring you peace and clarity. God bless

payed off all our bills yay! we had a little extra left over and we bought stools for our kitchen counter. they were cheap but don't look it. we got them on clearance at jc penney. i had always wanted to have a little breakfast nook since i moved in 5 years ago but couldn't find the right looking stools until today. it looks so cute and homey now.

it's nice too because marvin does most of the cooking so i can keep him company now while he's prepraing food. i also like having them because it creates more seating options, we had Christmas eve last year and most people were gathered at the table in the kitchen area but there were more people than seats so others had to sit on the couches in the living room and therefore were kind of left out of all the activity.

anyway, saturday night we also started putting out the fall decor around the house. the dining room table looks like something you'd see in a martha stewart magazine, it has 3 metallic bronze colored pumpkins as the center piece and then 2 fall bouquet arrangements framing them at each end of the table.

and we have a scarecrow on the front porch. i get him every year at walmart. he's only $7 but is like 4 ft. tall. and i get these 3 crows from the dollar tree every year (they look realistic believe it or not)and pin them onto the scarecrow - one on his hat, on on his shoulder and the third on the railing next to him, and for effect i'll put a little piece of straw on their beaks as if they were picking at him. all the neighbors think its so cute and on Halloween a lot of mothers take pics of their kids standing next to him. i even named him, his name is Patches  ok, i'm weird. anyway he stands under my cute scarecrow flag. and when it starts getting colder i'll surround him with pumpkins.

I never thought I'd say this, but I love working. This job is just awesome. Spent nearly 3 hours in the kitchen tonight(a week ago I had no cooking experience and now I have so much in the span of 3 days), and through some teamwork got out of there early rather than staying til almost Midnight like last night(which sucked). Work again tomorrow for a few hours, but this week I have 4 probable off days(also work Wednesday and Sunday, but I'm on call the other days for possible work). Go to college Tuesday/Thursday though and by Thursday that'll be 11 days in a row with either college or work. Can't wait for my first paycheck. Hoping for a completely off day either Friday or Saturday(or both if I can get it).

Thanks so much for your kind words Mattie, Monika, and Marvo, or as I could say, the three M's. ;) Anyway, Church was awesome, and me and my mom both had a great time there. Everyone there was so welcoming, and accepting, and the preacher was nice, and had a message that totally related to some of the things I'm dealing with today. It's almost as if I was meant to go yesterday. Anyway, I enjoyed it so much that I intend on going back next week, and every week after that. As I've mentioned before, I don't have many real life friends away from the internet, and so I'm excited about the new friends I'm bound to meet in Church!!! :D Anyway, thanks again for your kind words guys. I truly believe that going back to Church is going to help get my life back in order. I already feel more full inside, and I know that the more I go, the more that emptiness will be filled. :)

I'm happy to hear it, Brad.:) I think church will help you out a great deal as it has helped me. I feel so much at peace while at mass. My biggest goal is to be able to bring that sense of peace with me outside the church doors and into the world. I think that sort of peace of mind will make me a happier person and being a happier person will make me a better person.

thanks marvin. i've got a lot accomplished. i've read my book, bought my uniforms for school so i'm all set. now just have to get my hair done and get new glasses.

i've been having a good labor day weekend so far. i went to church today, haven't gone in a while and i really enjoyed the service. i'm going again in the morning for the 8am mass. the church i go to has an 8am mass 4 days a week. it brought me so much peace to be in the house of God.

marvin and i have spent the weekend fixing up the house. we bought yellow mums for the planter in front of the house. we bought new art deco pictures for the living room and a new bedspread for our bedroom and stools for the kitchen counter. i hope your enjoying your labor day weekend as much as me.

I am really glad you enjoyed going to church this morning! I go every Sunday and I am always glad I went. I have had a good weekend so far. Friday evening I went to my sister and brother-in-laws for supper and to spend the evening with them. Saturday was a lazy day. I just sat around the house watching TV, reading the newspaper, and visiting S.O. This morning I went to church with my Dad. Then we went back to his place were he had lunch waiting for us in the slow cooker. Yum!! Pork, Potatos, and veggies. Then we went over to see my Mom. (the home she is in is across the parking lot from Dads place). My sister was there too and we all went to chapel together and then to Dads place to spend the afternoon. We took Mom back to the Home in time for her supper and then Dad and I went to a chinese buffet for supper. Boy I sure did a lot of eating this weekend!

hey mattie! today was my first day. it was kind of hectic because class started at 9:30am and i worked 3rd shift and got out at 8am and had to get my dad at his house, change into my scrubs while i was there, bring him to work, park in the garage 3 blocks from the school - all in morning rush hour.i didn't even have time to pee!i had to hold it from 8am-11:30!

i was starving and tired and had to dig though my car for loose change to pay the garage fee (i forgot my wallet heading out to work last night.) but other than that....it went well:lol:. when i got to the actual classroom and settled down then i was more calm and relaxed.

i like the professor, he's very nice and humorous so it keeps it from getting boring. well, boring is not the right word because i've always been the odd one who enjoys long lectures, especially about subjects i find interesting (i had a 3 hour early u.s. history class once and all the teacher did was lecture and i was in heaven) anyway, when i'm tired, like after being up all night, i tend to zone out but the teacher is very energenic so it kept me interested.

i like his way of explaining things, he'll explain something and then tell an anecdote to help get it across. and he uses a lot of things to demonstrate what he's talking about. like he was discussing different parts of the blood (like plasma, serum, buffy coat) and showed it to us visually with a old vial of blood he had and it helped to distinguish what part of the blood he was talking about instead of just describing it through words.

it did get overwhelming though. basically everything he talked about was from the chapters we were told to read ahead of time, but sometimes he would get off subject and talk about things that were ahead of our current lesson and that got a little confusing at times. and i started to get frustrated but i know i'm not the only one who was like "huh?" and i'm sure it will all make sense to me in the future.

it really is more than learning how to stick someone with a needle. there's so much to it, its very complex and not a course you can just be lax with. there's so many layers to it. luckily i am a quick learner and already absorbed a lot my first day. marvin asked me a question about how they took his blood for the pre-op tests last week and i was already able to answer his question where as yesterday i would have said "i don't know". :)

i like his way of explaining things, he'll explain something and then tell an anecdote to help get it across. and he uses a lot of things to demonstrate what he's talking about. like he was discussing different parts of the blood (like plasma, serum, buffy coat) and showed it to us visually with a old vial of blood he had and it helped to distinguish what part of the blood he was talking about instead of just describing it through words.

it did get overwhelming though. basically everything he talked about was from the chapters we were told to read ahead of time, but sometimes he would get off subject and talk about things that were ahead of our current lesson and that got a little confusing at times. and i started to get frustrated but i know i'm not the only one who was like "huh?" and i'm sure it will all make sense to me in the future.

it really is more than learning how to stick someone with a needle. there's so much to it, its very complex and not a course you can just be lax with. there's so many layers to it. luckily i am a quick learner and already absorbed a lot my first day. marvin asked me a question about how they took his blood for the pre-op tests last week and i was already able to answer his question where as yesterday i would have said "i don't know". :)
I'm glad you were calm and relaxed when you got into your classroom. It's great that you are already learning new things and answering Marvin's questions. I think you are going to do very well in this class!

thanks marvin. class was even better today. i have social anxiety and i've been pushing myself to be more outgoing to overcome it. so today i volunteered to read part of our textbook out loud and i read aloud for 30 minutes!

then he asked for volunteers to have blood drawn by his other graduating class to practice. he wanted them to have someone to practice on, and he wanted us to observe the procedure. so i volunteered with 4 others to have my blood drawn. the student i got was real good. the anticipation of the needle was the most painful part. again she was really very good and i did not feel a thing. i hope i become as good as she is.

anyway, i also helped out some other students in class. while wwe had a break and the teacher was out of the room, a few students were asking each other "what's the abbreviation for this? what's the abbreviation for that? what test is the blue test tube used for? and i told them what the abbreviations stood for, and what color test tube was for what test and then i directed them to where they can find that information in the textbook. i was proud of myself because i made conversation with a half dozen people today. i was very shy and very nervous and felt uncomfortable but i pushed myself to.

then i turned in my first homework assignment and i was given my official patch for my scrubs that says "hartford hospital school of allied health". i was so proud. i'm getting it sewn on this weekend.

thanks again marvin for all your support. i was so uncomfortasble being outgoing today. i really felt out of my comfort zone but social anxiety is the reason why i've dropped out of college everytime i've tried and i'm trying to counteract it because i feel like this class is my last real chance to do something with my life. i'm going to keep trying to be outgoing outside of class too like in line at the grocery store and in church. i've also been thinking of seeing my doctor about maybe getting an anti-anxiety script.

i was trolling the net tonight (still am) as i have a case of insomnia and i got a facebook friend request from my aunt. we have a stormy relationship, we've tried to patch things up over the years but we never seem to meet eye to eye on things. so i was pleasantly surprised when i got her request, i was also surprised she was net savvy.

i accepted immediately and when i logged on to facebook almost immediately after accepting her she started a chat with me. we chatted for a little over an hour. i was glad she reached out as i think of her often, she is my late mom's sister and i would love to be close with her. deep down she has good intentions and means well, its just she can be overbearing and critical. i hope we can really make a go of it this time. a lot of people in my family have died in recent years and i'd like to hang on to whos left.

Good news... I went to the doctor yesterday to get my foot looked at. On Sept 23rd, my husband and I went hot air ballooning for his birthday and although there was only 6-8 mile an hour winds on the ground it was enough to cause our basket to literally crash. I thought I broke my foot and I couldn't walk on it for two days! I waited to go to the doctor because it was getting better, but then when it kept hurting I decided to get it checked out anyway. Turns out it was just a sprain and the pain should go away within six weeks. Ugh... it is getting a lot better than it was. Every day I have a little less pain. Never had any swelling, though.

life has been really great these days for so many reasons. i won't bore everyone with the details of all of them, but wow, that was a LOT of cobwebs swept away at once.

an update for those who were tuned in on my journey of failure just to find a damn doctor to figure out why i could hardly ever sing without my throat burning like hell: turns out i probably have acid reflux, which is excellent news in light of the fact that i thought it was vocal damage and i was at risk of losing my voice. i went through with choir and my voice has been well enough for me to get the solo in this song, starting at 1:52. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysIFQJ01154 all those jokes in my high school choir about how my voice was loud enough for me to have my own part in the harmony, and now it's actually happening. har har har.

anyway sorry if anyone thought i was dead or something, i just need to balance the things that drive me crazy.

Last week was a rough one. I was turned down for another six jobs which brings the overall total of jobs that I've been turned down for to 50. My dad also told me about a woman who was just hired at his company who was rejected for 150 jobs before she was hired for this one. Hearing that didn't make me feel good at all. However, this week has gotten off to a pretty good start. I'm optimistic that the job situation will improve soon. :)

I'm making this post using Internet Channel, via my Nintendo Wii. And I have a wireless keyboard to go with it, too. :D So I am essentially posting this via my TV. How cool is that? :D

Very cool. Then again, Allison, let's face it, who's cooler than you?

I feel good today because I have an upright freezer being delivered today. It will come in so handy for food sales, etc. Got a great deal as my stepson works at Sears. We got our new bedroom tv last week. This is fun, spending my lump sum from Social Security. :)

That's great Janice. :) I'm sure it will be nice to have the freezer. :) I wonder if Lily or Cesar will try and get on top of it.

A buddy of mine is spinning some 78's he recently aquired at this bar tonight. Its mostly blues and R&B stuff (the stuff that lead into something called rock and roll). Good times, and for some it will be history lesson to those who think rock and roll started with Elvis Presley.

I watched something called Cats 101 on Animal Planet. My sister asked me to tape it for her. There were two episodes. It was soooo cute! It talked about different kinds of cats. :)

My graduation ceremony from university was today. It was an enjoyable day and it was nice to see staff and other students again. I was dressed up in a dark blue gown and cap, both of which felt as though they were going to slide off at any minute - fortunately, they didn't.

Also, David Gilmour from Pink Floyd was there to receive an honorary degree. He used to attend my university (which was then a polytechnic) but he never actually finished his course. He seemed like a nice person, very nicely spoken and smart. He and Syd Barrett (also of Pink Floyd) both used to attend the college in the late 1960s.

Congratulations on your graduation Michelle! That's really neat that two members of Pink Floyd went to the same school.

I had a nice phone chat with Brad aka Little Mel, into the wee hours of the morning. It was one heck of call... probably the most meaningful one we've had to date. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
