On August 4th at 10pm Eastern Time, the Biography channel will have an episode talking about Family Ties. :D
I feel good because I got an awesome early birthday present in the mail the other day from my good friend Jen. (FamilyTiesForever). She sent me the entire first season of one of my all time favorite shows Family Ties. :D I was so excited when I received it, and my mom and I had a great time watching many of the episodes yesterday. Jen is an absolute sweetheart, and I thank you from the bottom of my  for the awesome gift. Infact, I think I'm going to pop it in and watch some more episodes now. :) Thanks again Jen for making my week!!!

Brad,
You're welcome. I'm glad you like it. :) That's nice that you and your mom watched some episodes together and that you're watching some more today. :) I'm glad it made your week. :)

It definitely did make my week Jen, and it was so sweet of you to do that for me. I'll never forget your act of kindness, and will always be appreciative. I've been watching all day today, and forgot how much I truly love this show. They sure don't make them like they use to, that's for sure!! :D
Btw, thanks for the info about the Biography channel having a show talking about FT. I'll be watching that for sure!! :)

I just did something drastic and I'm proud of it.
I LITERALLY froze my debit card. It's sitting in my freezer right now in a big block of ice. This way I can't spend any money on useless ****.
And when I need to pay bills, I'll just go to the bank and withdrawl what I need. :)

I feel good and relaxed now that I'm not going to the hospital for P.T. again until the fall. My therapist gave me some exercises to do at home. I didn't want that because going out is an incentive to keep it up, but it's only for a couple months so I can handle that. And knowing that I'm going back is also an insentive to keep them up. Besides, as I've said before exercice is a MUST for my condition.
Also, I have medicare and she told me that that's the way it works.

An episode of The Jack Benny Program that Richard Dawson was in. There were two eps on from 4-5am and I probably would have turned the TV off if Milton Berle wasn't on the 4am one. I decided to watch him and then the 4:30 one, which I was all like, OMG. So I quickly started the DVR. Nice to have one of those around; I didn't have to get up and find a DVD.
Sometimes I have the weirdest luck. I'd never stayed up and watched JB on Sunday nights before and the one time I do I see an episode I want.

thanx, sweetie. Yea, it is tough, but at least I don't have to do it an an exact time now (for the time being; anyway). However, I always do them in the early evening, around 5:30 or 6; in front of the news. Then I relax for 45 minutes or an hour and make dinner for my brother and me. (unless he volunteers to make it) then after dinner he helps me with 2 of them.
And, now I'm starting to feel like-I'M GETTING BETTER!!!

We had something kind of weird but nice happen to us at dinner tonight. My husband and I were at Red Robin and just as we got ready to leave, the couple sitting across from us came over to our table and asked if they could pray for us. We aren't really religious, but we said okay. The guy asked if there was anything we were concerned about and my husband said he had been having health problems. I meant to say something about my mom with her breast cancer but I was kind of taken aback by the whole thing. So then the husband and wife sat down across from us and started praying. I felt kind of uncomfortable, but it was a really nice thing for them to do. I'd never had that happen in a restaurant (or anywhere outside of church) before.

I am in the process of making major and overdue life changes... the first step is that I'm off probation at college, and I'm going to be going full-time for the first time in over a year coming up next month. Two days a week I'll be on another campus in a bigger city which will open up plenty of new opportunities. I'm also going to be getting a huge student loan so I'll have plenty of extra money to spend(for once), finally buy my new laptop I've been wanting for months, going to buy a bunch of new clothes and school stuff, and I'm going to save up the rest for my future. I'm hoping to be done here by the end of next year. I'm even considering moving out of my parents house before then if I can.

That's great. I'm into Freebies like you wouldn't believe. I can't wait for the mail every day to see what I'm getting. Magazines, samples from Walmart, stationary, pet stuff, coffee, shampoo, it's endless. JC Penney had a special going yesterday where they gave away a shirt. It's very youthful, so I'll probably give it to my niece, but it was worth 15 bucks. I've got this freebie thing down to a science. If you're ever interested, I can show you the ropes. It's addicting. Just ask Jenny, lol. She got her friend into it too, lol.

Janice, is right. :) The freebies are addicting. :) I got my friend Keisha into it, and she's a trip. She calls me everyday and has me tell her what's on the websites because her computer isn't working right now. She's been on vacation for approx. a week and half and will be back very soon. I know she's going to call me and ask me about the freebies while she's been gone. I ordered the free shirt, thanks again Janice. :) I forgot to order Keisha one until today, but it was too late.

Whats the book??
It was a controversial autobiography by Hedy Lamarr, that was released back in the 1960's, and is totally out of print. I searched every library in Southern California, and was very unsuccessful, then last night, there was the same book for only 4 bucks. Of course, I could not resist. I have been intrigued by this autobiography for years.

Yesterday my boyfriend Kris found out from his Dad that his Dad's girlfriend is pregnant and is expecting a baby in March.
Kris's Dad has been separated from his Mum since Kris was small - together they had Kris (obviously) in January 1986 and Kris's brother Ben in July 1988. Kris and Ben have a younger sister, who was born in October 1995. She is the child of their mother and their (former) stepfather (their mother having recently separated from their stepfather.)
Kris is 23 at the moment and by the time the baby is born he'll be 24. His brother will be 21, approaching 22 - so there will be a big, big age difference between them and their younger brother or sister.
I'm not sure how old their father is, but I think he is in his late 40s.

I GOT IN!!!! to the phlebotomy course I applied for back in spring. They told me they were full for fall then and I've been calling them all summer and just last week when I talked on the phone to the course director she sort of put me off and I lost all hope. I had begun looking into other fields of study then in todays mail I got a letter and they told me I was accepted for Fall 2009!!!! I can't believe it! Soon I can leave this lousy security guard job behind and have a real career with great money! Only dilemna is, the first class is scheduled for September 10 - thats the day Marvin is operated on to remove the new cancer growth. I hope I can work something out.

I have to wonder where the hell I've been; I usually am right on top of these things!
I was at Best Buy today, just perusing the TVDVD section. I look and see a Quincy ME DVD...SEASON 3. I had no f-ing clue that was even released! I thought they stopped at 2 and dumped it. I was all like  and grabbed it. Sure I paid more than I would have had to, but whatever.
4 years between releases though....that's ridiculous!

got the book for my phlebotomy class. i got it a month ahead of everyone because i won't be there for the orientation september 10 (thats the day of marvin's cancer surgery). the teacher said i won't be missing anything important and she went over a few things with me when we met privately - basically where to park, where to get my scrubs, what chapters to read in the book. so i'm all set. i'm going to take advantage of the fact i'm ahead of the class by a month and study as much of the book as i can. it's cool because it's kind of like a workbook where they have questions or tests at the end of chapters so i'm going to photocopy those pages so i can quiz myself as much as possible. i'm glad i have the book ahead of time, i think it'll make me less nervous if i go in there knowledgable about the subject.

Thanks Mattie. I'm going to take your advice to heart. I always have what it takes, thats far from my concern. It's just I never apply it. I always quit for some reason. I get scared or I feel pressured or I don't know really. Like last time I went to school, maybe 2 years ago, I was full time taking three classes -intro to early american history - college level, english comprehension and composition - college level, and pre algebra (2 levels below college - i always was bad in math). i passed the placement exams with flying colors to get in the classes. the counselor said i was well above what the normal person scored - i had a 92 in english, and a 52 in math, which he said was far above average. and on my first report card i had an a in history, a b+/a- in english (only reason i didn't get a higher grade was because i lost points on reports because i neglected things like putting in margins or including a bibliography- i've never been good with the technicals) and b+ in math and out of nowhere i dropped out. i just quit and i don't know why, i all of the sudden paniced. it wasn't that the work was hard, actually the english and history classes were old territory for me, i love early us history and english has always been a pleasure for me, i have an extense vocabulary and a command for the english language, my professor even said i could write at the university level, and for the first time in my life i found math actually fun. but for some reason i paniced and quit, just dropped out. its like one day i just stopped showing up to class. i can't explain it. and i'm just so scared i'll do it again. i feel so much pressure i guess to be perfect. when i was a kid if i got an a or a- on a test my parents would say something like "well, why didn't you get an a+?"

I agree with Marv, Kim... I think you'll do well and have a lot of fun too.
I know what it's like to have the jitters. The first two weeks are the hardest for me... in my house we call them 'the first-week blues'... it's where I have this sudden panic to just drop all of my classes before the deadline. But my gosh.. it sounds like you were doing a fabulous job in those three classes that you had 2 years ago... I'm really sad you dropped them. But, you have a chance now to learn a lot in this class, and I know you're gonna be fine... so what, you bring home a B or a C once in awhile, no big deal! You'd be surprised how teachers actually look a lot more at the non-technical aspect of students to figure a grade... teachers really do look at effort, and if you showed up to class and was on time, and payed attention... believe it or not, ALL of that counts just as much as the letter grades on tests and papers. :D Yeah, I'm talkin like a teacher now... I know. Bottom line, Kim: you've got the intelligence, all you need is a little confidence. ;)

WHEEEEEEE! We got a Wii! I haven't had a new gaming system since Super Nintendo lol. But Marvin and I want to try to beat the cabin fever blues this winter. We went to a few plays last winter to help break things up but those were just 3 evenings out of the whole winter. I thought the Wii was dumb at first but I became interested in it the last couple months after seeing demos of Wii Fit on qvc. It looked really fun and I wanted to try it, but of course you need the Wii system. So Marvin out of the blue said "I want the Wii for winter. I want to play a fishing game" Anyway, anyone know of an EASY fishing game Marvin can play?

just bought some new fall clothes with a gift certificate i got. i bought three 2 piece outfits and a fleece sweatshirt. i love sets because they're comfy and you don't have to think, you just throw them on and you look instantly pulled together.
i'm trying to give myself a makeover. i cut my hair short back in winter and its finally growing back. its a little past my chin now and i can't wait till its shoulder length. i'll never cut my hair again!!! i'm using the crest whitestrips on my teeth and i'm also losing weight. i'm on a diet and eat 3 meals a day. breakfast is bran flakes or cheerios. lunch is salad - plain no dressing. and dinner is either soup or another salad. if i get hungry and need a snack i eat a plum or clementine or some celery/carrot sticks. and i don't drink anything but v8 or water.
