View Full Version : Why couldn't they have added a girl like Leslie to the show in place of Kelly/Jessie?

Leslie was the extremely hot blonde in the first season of Saved by the bell the College years and I never understood why they added a girl like Torre. It was nothing attractive about her and she was nothing but a ONGOING GRAVY STAIN during the senor year of SBTB

Not that The College Years was a smart comedy or anything, but I personally think the high school years was too silly for a character like Leslie. I'm sure I'm still in the minority, but I liked Tori.

The high school years would have been a good fit for Alex though. She was almost as annoying as Screech during his years on Saved By The Bell: The New Class.

When they added Tori to the cast, I think they wanted to add a different kind of girl to the show, rather than making her a direct replacement for Kelly and Jessie. If they added someone like Leslie during the senior year of high school, it would have been like "oh, here we go, another smart, pretty girl like Jessie." or "oh, here were we go, another hot cheerleader like Kelly."

I agree. They probably figured it was better to look for something different rather than an exact replacement.

I agree with the Tori situation. Since when did Zack fall for girls in jeans and leather jackets?! Tori wasn't sexy by any standards, and was not the "California" type of girl he usually flirted with. She could have just been one of the guys.

I kind of liked that Tori was Jo type character.
