I tried this twitter thing but it sucks. Can't upload a pic unless it's the size of a toenail and I just don't see what is everyone is so excited about twitter. I don't like the look of twitter and it's just a dull site.
On the otherhand, Facebook is nice and bright and very easy to use and be involved in all kind of contests and just BLOWS twitter off the social network map in my opinion

Facebook. I don't even understand what the point of Twitter is. You just type random things and post them. Woopie ****.
Oh wait, I do that here...

Well the first thing that turned me of about twitter was the LOOK. Very unattractive, it looks like the internet was out in the late 70's when I look at it.

I haven't even looked at the site. It just sounds pointless to me.

I don't have a facebook page but I do tweet. I only joined twitter so I could be a follower of S.O. there. I spend very little time there though because as Sol said it's boring. Anyway S.O. is my real social networking site anyway!!!

i don't think it's really appropriate to compare the two. facebook is for social networking and twitter is just for status updates. but if i were to choose a preference anyway, it would be twitter because it doesn't confuse the **** out of me.

I really don't like either, I prefer the phone to give status updates. Although, if I was forced to choose, I would choose facebook, although I hardly use it. Twitter does seem pretty pointless overall.

I don't have either, though I've had people tell me I need to get a facebook.
I'll never Twitter. I don't think anyone gives two ****s about what I would tweet. I don't even care.

I do have a Twitter account but I hardly use it. I like Facebook more and Twitter only allows to post short blogs. I like Facebook you can post long notes on anything you want to.

personally speaking, i think social networking sites in general are pointless because i'd rather go on an actual fan site, such as this one and as the people online would talk about the types of things that interest me and them. also, most of the social networking sites have boring and unattractive looking layouts. the main reason why i joined twitter is because michael urie and mark indelicato who play marc and justin on ugly betty are on there. if they weren't around, then i wouldn't have signed up to twitter.
there is a website called fanpop that i am a member of and here it acts as a social networking site AND a fan site for people of different tastes and interests. and i much prefer it to the likes of facebook, myspace. actually, the only websites i visit regularly are this one and fanpop.

Facebook all the way! I have reconnected with so many old friends and classmates in the short amount of time I have been on it. And I didn't have to pay to do it (take THAT classmates.com and mylife.com!)
I don't see the need for Twitter...I am not that obsessed with everyone's wherabouts and doings 24/7.

I can't really say, because I haven't joined Twitter, and have very little information as to what it's all about. I will probably check it out, and if I like it, I'm sure I'll join. As far as Facebook goes, I'm really liking it so far. It's helped me get back in regular contact with a couple people I hadn't spoken with in awhile, and it's also introduced me to a few SOer's who I never really got the chance to know here including Joni (DoodyVille) Jude (Jude The Obscure) and Oscar. There are a few things about Facebook that annoy me, but I just don't use those things. I just stick with what I understand.

facebook- its way better...twitter is the stupidest sh*t i've ever seen lol. wtf is a twitter anyway? you can't comment anybody else, and it's merely a site to post your status, which is stolen from facebook anyway. facebook is nice, easy to use and easy to talk to all my friends & fam to. Definitely Facebook.
I see Twitter the same way too. It's just way to post your status. On Facebook you can comment people and use apps.

I wanted to ask a question about Facebook, and figured I'd post it here, instead of starting a new thread, just to ask my dumb little question. Anyway, I'm probably going to sound like an idiot here, but where is your facebook link located at on your profile? I want to add my Facebook link to my signature, incase anyone here wants to be my friend, but I can't for the life of me figure out where the damn thing is. I know it's a stupid question, but can anyone help me out? Thanks!!

I don't have a Facebook, but I do have a Twitter account. You can add me: www.twitter.com/Dude87
And you CAN comment to others. You just have to do @(insert name here) Like, one of the people I follow is Natalie Grant, a Christian singer (see siggy). If I want to comment to one of her pictures or whatever I'll put @NatalieGrant and then post whatever I want to say. And they comment back by using the same @(insert name here) thing. The only thing I don't like about Twitter is you have a limit on the words you can post. Sometimes, I've used two tweets just to tell what I was doing.

i like them both for different reasons. Facebook and Twitter aren't really comparable to me...Facebook is more like MySpace while Twitter is more like blogging, kind of.
i mostly use Twitter to follow David and Jordin and other celebrities really lol

Thanks robyrob!! You're always such a big help, and I appreciate it very much!! :) It seems so obvious now that you mention it, there's just so much stuff on Facebook, that it's easy to miss stuff sometimes. But thanks again for the help, I should be able to find my link now.

Really, not a single one? It's good that you have contact information for everyone you want in your life. :)
Still, a lot of people lose touch over the years, so Facebook can be useful for helping you get back into contact with former friends/classmates etc that you haven't seen in years.

exactly, it's a lot easier than "picking up the phone", and for some people it's also a way of expressing yourself.
