Yesterday, sources told The Hollywood Reporter that freshman cop drama Southland was picked up for 13 episodes next season. The fates of Law & Order and Chuck -- as well as several new pilots -- are still unknown, but the network is said to be in the late stages of finalizing renewals for Thursday-night comedies My Name is Earl and Parks & Recreation. In January, NBC announced early renewals for The Office, 30 Rock, and The Biggest Loser.

That's good news.

Earl may not be as strong as it once was, but I still like it.

They better at least have one more episode to tell us who Earl Jr's father is.

Since the season finale wasn't written as a series finale, I guess they figured they will be renewed for another season.
I hope they are.
While I really love this show, I think Earl has run its course; it's a funny, quirky and very sweet show, but I think they have to wrap it up with an official goodbye season. I don't want to see this show cancelled without a proper farewell.

I was just told that NBC has un-offically cancelled it, and FOX is no longer interested in it!

It's about 95% canceled. It'll be official on Tuesday.
