For those of you with a frequent case of the Midnight Munchies....this could prove to be the deadliest recipe on earth! ;)

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Sounds great, but have you heard of Warm Delights? You get a bowl, cake mix, mix with water, pop it in the microwave about a minute or 2 and Ta Da!! Not exactly gourmet but really not too bad.

You know what though, I don't have any WD in my pantry, but I have all those ingredients(except cocoa, but I have chocolate syrup, I'll see how that works out), so I think I might try out your recipe tonight!!

Well, I found some hot cocoa mix. I guess that would work just as well.

That's cool. It's too many steps for me though. I just make sure I keep those Betty Crocker Warm Delights in stock. I love the ones with caramel. Add water and you're done.

LOL

Reminds me of a little plaque I made once:

"Dear Lord, if you can't
make me skinny,
Then make all my
friends fat!"

;)

So it does work eh? I figured it would. I actually found it online yesterday and thought I'd post it. Yah, I know, I've never seen those warm delights up here (course, I've never looked really) but if you don't have that stuff on hand, usually you do have the other ingredients - like Phoebe7165 there. lol

I know - to me the 2nd pic looked like the marks of a tin can too - who knows? You could use that in an oven, but not a microwave of course. (This now reminds me of Kramer trying to cook a whole dinner on his engine).

I know the past few months, I've made sure I've had both Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie AND chocolate brownie mix (in those "sausage" packages) on hand for "emergencies". ;)

They'll really come in handy now since I quit smoking 3 days ago! uh ohhhh
