I have to agree about George Lopez. It's taking the path of Fresh Prince with all these week long marathons. I'd like to see some marathons of Fresh Prince - you'd think NAN would have done some Urkel marathons by now.

No not fresh Prince, Family Matters would be a nice marathon to have but since they don't show the closing credits I rather not see a FM marathon.

Pav why does N@N show the closing credits credits for George Lopez and Home Improvement but not Fresh Prince or Family Matters?

Pavan

Not sure, but they don't edit George Lopez. Warner Bros. gave it to them since it is still in regular syndication. That is the first Nick at Nite show ever to launch on locals and Nick at Nite the same time.

Yeah, Fresh Prince is another show I'm sick of.

I really hate that they cut the FM credits, especially by doing it at the end which cuts out the best part. When it first premiered on N@N they cut the beginning which was still a pain but at least better.

I see N@N is going to show Season 1 again, I missed it back in January, of course they'll air three episodes Sunday Night and then the dumb George Lopez marathon starts. I don't understand why they continue to be erratic with the scheduling of the episodes, this week being a great example.

I think N@N should stop airing FM because the closing credits was the best part of the show. Without seeing it the show is no fun in watching.

Watching FM on BET, I did notice that the closing credits had some great scenes. It's a shame NAN can't show them, but would rather show a 30 second promo for their network.

I don't N@N realizes that every family matter ep had a closing tag scene and you are stpping fans from seeing the final scene. Makes no sense.

Exactly, They show the first 5 seconds and then the last second. I applaud N@N for their lineup this entire decade but now heading into the new decade they are not treating the tag scenes well at all.

That's what annoys me most. You're just starting to enjoy it and then it's gone.

and it's not like they don't have enough time for promos already. NINE MINUTES per half-hour, ridiculous, and that doesn't count their dumb extra promo over the credits, and it annoys me more because as said already, the precious George Lopez and Home Improvement aren't cut.

I still enjoy watching NAN latenight. Their primetime schedule is what matters, but latenight, with Family Matters and Roseanne, are still the best to me.

If they added The Nanny in there to latenight, it would be even better. I never understood why NAN never promoted their 12am-6am schedule more.

1. Thank GOD the George Lopez marathon is over. It was pretty good at times but 5 nights of any show all night long is too much.

Remember, The Nanny was acquired when it was still TV Land/Nick at Nite, so the current management may not be high on it as it was not their decision. I wouldn't get my hopes up for it. Probably a late night slot for a while then dumped over to TV Land (they may not do that since they aren't under the same management anymore) and be another Murphy Brown or Wings.

IMO, the show doesn't fit either network. It was acquired before N@N's "family" and new approach, and current management. I have a hard time seeing it on TV Land either. Probably late nights.

Try watching the show straight through on a Saturday-LOL. While her voice is definitely irritating, it's a good show.

I'd like to see it get a primetime spot. My guess would be 9:30 if anything. But, it also wouldn't be bad to see it take a latenight slot. Like I was saying before, if they added it to latenight, they could get a nice latenight block going, only if they promoted it a bit more.

Note than I am NOT familiar with The Nanny, so I will make that clear now, lol.

But would it fit N@N anymore? remember they acquired it when they were still with TV Land and they wanted 90s/2000s, regardless of content/plot, etc...Wings, Mad About You, Murphy Brown, etc? Unlike now when they are wanting to focus on family shows and shows about families. I agree, some sort of late night block with Roseanne would fit it nicely.

Just sick of seeing these shows flop then be moved to TV Land, flop, then wind up being thrown to early morning slots (well not anymore with paid programming) or have contracts cut.

I hope you are right about HI

Yeah. Even though I like HI, it just isn't holding up with the success of George Lopez and Family Matters.

BTW, Solomon, The Nanny is based in Queens, New York. Basically, Fran Fine gets fired from her job in a beauty salon because her long-time boyfriend dumps her, and she ends up getting a job as the nanny to the Sheffield home. Although at first it's on a trial basis, the father sees how much she livens up the family, and how much the kids immediately click with her, and she stays. Throughout the show, a relationship slowly forms between Fran and Mr. Sheffield, and the show goes from there. There's also the 3 children, the butler, Niles (your average wisecracking butler), CC, Mr. Sheffield's copartner on broadway (her and Niles hate each other), and Fran's mother, who was always my favorite character, because of her big hair, her need for grandchildren, and her love for food-LOL.

Hope that give you a little insight into the show. Like I said before, although Fran's voice is definitely annoying, it's a good show, unique, and charming in a way.

JulieSomoski

The Nanny getting a launch marathon is definitely a positive sign it'll be getting a primetime launch. That also goes to show this isn't just a burnoff show for them to air in latenight.

So, my guess is it'll definitlely be getting the 9pm slot. So, here's my schedule:

9pm The Nanny
9:30 The Nanny
10:00 George Lopez
10:30 George Lopez
11:00 Family Matters
11:30 Family Matters
12:00 Home Improvement
12:30 Home Improvement
1:00 George Lopez
1:30 George Lopez
2:00 Family Matters
2:30 Family Matters
3:00 Fresh Prince
3:30 Fresh Prince
4:00 Roseanne
4:30 Roseanne
5:00 The Nanny
5:30 The Nanny
6:00 Home Improvement

They could also stick another HI at 8:30 if they really wanted to open up that slot again.

Hmmmm, one show is gone: The Cosby Show, it only airs twice a week.

Two others heavily reduced: Fresh Prince has to be one. Roseanne or maybe FM could be cut back on weekends, or it could be HI and The Nanny taking over some of it's slots.

That is interesting. One show gone - I'd say Cosby, Fresh Prince, or Roseanne. The Nanny would go well with Roseanne, so I wouldn't see any point in taking it off.

Heavily reduced? Has to be Home Improvement - at least an hour will be cut, probably 9pm. Or, maybe NAN will switch things up entirely. Maybe they'll move George Lopez up an hour to 9pm, and put The Nanny at 10pm. Or, they could move Family Matters to 9pm and air The Nanny at 11. They have a lot of options.

I have a feeling whatever they do, it's going to be a bigger change than we think, though. I think no matter what, HI's days in primetime are over.

I'm not sure about The Nanny, I wouldn't be surprised to see it be a huge hit or a huge flop.

Interesting ideas there Julie, I'm not sure they would do such a radical shakeup but it's possible.

I think they'd be afraid to do some big schedule changes. They don't want to mess with what works. But, HI is working like they wanted it to, so logically, The Nanny would replace it at 9pm. But, it could be anything.

It could definitely do well, or it could flop. Family Matters was the same way, and it turned to be very successful. Same for George Lopez. But, I don't see it matching the success of George Lopez, especially if it airs at 9pm.

Since GL is such a big success for Nick, too bad Nick doesn't try to revive the show w/ new episodes!
