Q: James, I notice you didn't mention "Chuck" as looking "pale & shaky." At this point do you think it will get renewed? Given all of NBC's woes and how brutal the time period is? -- Paul
A: NBC is going to be pretty reluctant to get rid of "Chuck." They like the show, critics like the show, fans like the show. Its numbers have been weak recently, but to some extent you have to blame the ratings tide being out at NBC. This isn’t a numbers-based answer I'm giving, it’s more just a sense that if NBC can find any way to make “Chuck” work, they will.

I hope that's true. Chuck is the only real good show that NBC has left.

I agree Sonny, Chuck is a really entertaining show.

I like Chuck, too, although I usually find myself watching Big Bang during the time slot and switching to Chuck during commercial breaks.

Even though there will be 5 fewer hours less over at NBC next season, I think we'll see Chuck back. It probably won't be for a full season, though - maybe 13 episodes to get it started. Seeing how much NBC loves the show, it'll probably be one of the first to be renewed.

What a sign of relief! And I too find myself watching 'Big Bang' over at CBS, along with all their Monday night comedies, and I DVR Chuck and House. But if NBC cancels another show on me (Eg. Studio 60), I'm completely done with that network.
By any chance, if NBC cancelled it, couldn't it go to the CW by a slim chance being a Warner Bros. Show?

Unfortunately all the CW seems to care about is targeting teenage girls and I don't think that's Chuck's audience. I end up watching Chuck and then I watch 24 at 9 for a great Monday lineup and then I watch BBT later in the week. I think one of Chuck's biggest problems is it's competition. It goes up against 4 other hit shows. It's hard for it to stand out.
