Cut a small "V" into your toenail in the centre for each toe. It will help the nail grow out of your nailbed kinda "towards itself in the centre" if you know what I mean - as if it were trying to mend itself.

I would just keep it clean and use Polysporin on it (available at drug stores). Keep your socks and shoes loose - no pointed toes. If you feel you're getting an infection (red, swelling, more pain than usual) see your doctor.

For the "burned" sides of your toes, as long as they aren't painful, I'd suggest just using a moisturizing lotion (Lubriderm would be perfect). A week or two of daily use (preferrably morning before you put your socks on and at night before bed) should get them back looking good again. Warm foot baths in Epsom salts is also really good.

How do I know this stuff? My brothers were into "Beatle Boots" when they first came out and both got ingrown toenails. One got them so badly infected that half the toenail had to be permanently removed (vertically) and it hurt like heck.

Good luck!

If you don't have any Lubriderm, Head for your nearest CVS. The stores in my area had it and other lotions marked down 75% off this past week.

It's not the ingrown toenail I'm worried about, I just wanna know if the burned out skin on the right is anything to worry about. It doesn't hurt at all when you apply pressure to it... will it heal itself?

Oh yah, it will definitely heal - just stop putting the peroxide on it!! And don't use anything to pick at the nail bed. Best just to leave it alone, allow it to get air (i.e. when you're at home where cotton socks and sleep in bare feet). You should be totally fine in a week or so max. :)

Doesn't look that horrible - I've seen worse believe me. ;)

Yeah, it's been worse. The first time I had it, it was so bad that I could barely walk and it would bleed like inside and then the blood would come out and dry up and turn blackish and I had to soak it for like 20 minutes and then attempt to get the dried up blood off (worst experience ever) just for it to bleed again in a few hours. Then I had surgery, which failed of course. Then I had surgery again (wedge resection), which was done wrong somehow but ended up working but the ingrown toenail was gone to the point where it took like 3 weeks to heal and I couldn't walk right for a long time after that.

That's the left side. It's looking better now. :p
