View Full Version : TJL - Laptop Man!
Hey kids, TJL here.
Well, I did it. I finally put my creaky ol PC out to pasture - actually it crashed last night and refused to go back on - and went out to Best But after work and bought a brandy new laptop.
It's a very nice Hewlitt Packard with a 16" screen and a big ass hard drive to do whatever it is hard drives do. Lots of extra features and a very powerful internal modem that lets me move about the apartment with ease. I have the Norton anit virus already hooked up to keep the bad guys at bay.
Now I have to get rid of the old one. Which means now I can get rid of the crummy old desk I have too.
Great, now I have to clean my room this weekend.

Here is a suggestion for you.
Maybe a month or two later, buy an extra battery for back up and an universal AC adapter. I bought my laptop 2 years ago and I need a new battery that I will order from Amazon.com and an AC adapter that I went to Best Buy and found a universal one.
EDIT: Um.. did you get a new laptop or computer? I thought you got a new laptop.
It's a laptop.
It's pretty.

When my Dell desktop passes away (and I HOPE it won't be for a while) I'm getting a laptop too. Probably w/b an Apple.

I had my heart set on a Mac, but it just wasn't in my budget. Gotta keep my credit card bills low this year.

When I move into my own place next month (I can't wait!!!!!) I'll have to buy my own computer. I'm seriously considering getting a labtop.
I think I might buy a wireless mouse this weekend. I'm a real spaz with this touchpad thing.

I enjoy my Microsoft wireless mouse, and found it for about $25.

:yeahthat :D
I hope to pick up a wireless mouse tomorrow. I saw a few at Staples today, and they're reasonably priced.
I picked up some blank DVDs today becasue I downloaded an episode of Cinematic Titanic this morning and I burned it on to DVD.
I love my computer.

LOL, I hated my touchpad at first too and used a wireless mouse for 6 months or so, but the darn thing eats batteries so much, so I eventually started using the touchpad and started to like it. Used it for about a year til it started to die a few weeks back so I'm back to the wireless mouse.
I second the suggestion about getting another battery and adapter. My 2-year-old battery only holds up about 30 minutes now which is pathetic(I need to get a new one) and my old adapter died back in December. Was a big problem because I wasn't prepared.
