Hey everyone I've been catching up on tons of Tivo'd UM episodes and I just ran across this case. I remember this one from when I was a kid and it always freaked me out. I felt so sad for the young woman who was probably subjected to some pretty awful things. Well, it gave me great joy to see that they found the guy responsible. (http://www.unsolved.com/solved.html)
However, what's weird about the update is that it seems to totally go against the eye witnesses account of the three white trashy looking guys pounding on his car and telling him to leave the camp site. What I'm wondering is if UM decides to air cases even though they know that some of the vital information is being held by the police who tell UM not to mention anything they are working on? Make sense? I've noticed this with a few cases where it seems UM has a story they want to tell, but it's not necessarily accurate, given some of the sensitive clues or evidence the police may not want mentioned on the air.
I also noticed that Spike has used clips from this cases reenactment on another case about a model disappearing. Weird. Anyway, glad this case was solved!
