A 21-year-old Waterboro man accused of breaking his young son's legs was released from jail today after posting $500 cash bail, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.
Shaun Dubnick-Sadowski was arrested Tuesday night after his 15-month-old son was taken to H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Police said Dubnick-Sadowski admitted twisting both of the child's legs last Sunday and causing the injuries. He then tried to cover it up for two days before the boy was treated, according to police.
Dubnick-Sadowski was charged with elevated aggravated assault on a child under 4 years old. He was held at the York County Jail until making bail earlier today.
He did not enter a plea during an initial court appearance Wednesday but told the court he has "another explanation for the injuries," according to the lawyer appointed to represent him.
