Kristin Chenoweth has been tapped to co-star in "Legally Mad," David E. Kelley's new drama for NBC.

The project, Kelley's first under his overall deal with Warner Bros. TV, is a quirky legal drama centering on a woman who takes a job at her father's law firm.

Chenoweth will play Skippy Pylon, a brilliant but not entirely well attorney who is relentlessly cheerful with flashes of psychosis and often is mistaken for a teenager.

"I could only picture Kristin playing this role," Kelley said. "I've wanted to work with her for a long time and can't wait to reveal her as someone who's completely mad."

"Mad" extends Chenoweth's relationship with WBTV. She earned an Emmy nomination for her supporting role on the studio's recently canceled dramedy, ABC's "Pushing Daisies."

Chenoweth is repped by CAA, Untitled and attorney James Adams.
