According to fansite big-bang-theory.com, the series averaged 9.90 million not 9.67. HIMYM averaged 9.56 which was its season high.

I believe it came down to 9.67 in finals. however. A few markets preempted it last night for early election coverage. But still, that's amazing. Obviously, turning the clocks back helped out, and a series high at this point in the game is amazing! It nearly reached 10 million viewers again - I'm seriously betting that it will at some point this season.

And yesterday's episode was great - quality wise, I don't think it could get better. The storylines are always fresh and interesting.

I have to say, when we look back years from now at classic episodes...the last 2 will def. be there! I mean Sheldon dealing with driving and women...couldn't get any better! And next week, Sheldon and Penny rivalry! Seriously, this is becoming an instant classic!

This show has a chance at 10 million viewers once Dancing With The Stars leaves the time slot. It is quite amazing the numbers this show has put up. It is putting up better numbers in the more difficult 8:00 time slot than it did at 8:30. This is CBS's strongest 8:00 show since King of Queens. Let's hope BBT continues its great ratings, and it will be here for many years to come. :)

No doubt this also has to do with Warner Bros. pulling it from online outlets to save it for syndication. People now know its either watch it when it airs or miss it. I mean, of course, many use torrents but most dont.

That's not the reason. Online viewing is still a very small part of TV viewing. Most people either watch shows live or DVR them. It is the strength of the show, not the online viewing.

I have no doubt it can hit 10 million once Dancing ends. DWTS is its only competition right now, and even with it on, its getting close to 10 million viewers every week.

Well, there just went the ratings at least as of the middle of January. FOX just moved top rated House in the time slot effective January 19. BBT will be lucky to get 7-8 million once that powerhouse joins the time slot. I hope CBS cuts it some slack with this type of competition coming in. :(

Even with House in the slot, I still think BBT should be able to do well. House will probably take away some of its demo, but viewers should still stick with it. If anything, this would be bad news for How I Met Your Mother, because dramas tend to build in their second half-hour. Hopefully it won't dip any farther below 8 million like it did last season.

I hope your right. However, I think House hurts big time. We can forget about 10 million. I think we are now looking more around 7-8 million.

It does seem to be building a steady fanbase each week. Hopefully, it can reach 10 million sometime before midseason starts - obviously, CBS knows that House will take something out of it. But, I don't think it'll be much - hopefully the fanbase its building this season will stick around come January.
