I was just on imdb and I found something very interesting. One of the serach topics under GA was a TV movie. Not 'Return to Green Acres', but one dated for 2008. I'm sorry, but I already know that they're going to take this show and ruin it. If anything they'll set it up like a modern sitcom and use every bad pun in the book. Another thing that irritates me is when they try to find people that look just like the original cast. You can't replace Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor or any of the cast. The only good thing that could ever come out of this would be if the remake got people interested in seeing the orginal show which would boust the DVD sales and then give us more of a chance of seeing the release of the fourth season.

Amen to that! A Green Acres movie would be awful! I cringe just thinking of any actress trying to imitate Eva Gabor's accent!

There is no way of forecasting the quality of such a movie this early in the process.

Well, at least there is some one who is positive about it, but I still don't know. Like I said, I just hope that it boosts the sales of the DVD sets.

Oh, I know!!! I loved Eva always going "Olivah! Olivah!" and cooking her godawful "hotscakes". A remake would be a TERRIBLE idea. So there!!

I disagree... :)
I like the idea of a re-make...I think it's better than not doing anything for the show.. I have said this on previous posts about other sitcoms that I think when they do a remake they should try to get it as close to the show as is technologically possible. People love these old shows, let's have a movie as if they show never left the air and it's a new episode. We we get to revisit all our old favorites... bring on Hooterville!!!
