You really ARE seeing double! Sister, Sister is finally on DVD in a two-disc set from CBS DVD that features the first 12 episodes of the series. The series stars real life twins Tia and Tamera Mowry, playing two girls named (oddly enough) Tia and Tamera that notice that they are very much alike. Through some poking and prodding, they discover they actually were twins that were separated at birth. They were adopted by Lisa and Ray (Jackee Harry and Tim Reid), two people that are just not meant for each other--except of course when, by the miracle of a sitcom idea, they all end up living together under one big roof!

The series began as a midseason replacement on ABC in 1994, and ran for several seasons (although it moved to the now defunct The WB in the second season) and had plenty of fans back then, and still has some dedicated fans to this day. It’s mostly just a fun sitcom about a blended family trying to make it together. Can they make it? Find out by watching!

Same here! Looking forward to watching the episodes again, although the DVD set sounds very cheap and overpriced to me-LOL. For 2 discs, no bonus features, and the cheap quality Paramount puts out, its priced at $39.99? I'm still going to buy it, but wouldn't that hurt sales if its that much?

Actually Sister, Sister moved to the WB after the second season. It was a suprise summer hit on Fridays in the 1993-1994 season and it actually broke the top ten two weeks in a row. It surpassed the ratings of Family Matters and rivaled the ratings of Step by Step, it's lead in series. Sister, Sister was moved to Tuesday nights later in the first season and aired after Full House and it's ratings were amazing. Suprisingly when ABC released it's 1994-1995 fall schedule Sister, Sister was not on it but new episdoes were still being made for later. Finally on November 16, 1994, Sister, Sister returned on Wednesdays at 8PM to more tepid ratings. It aired before All American Girl, the Margaret Cho comedy and the demographics for the show were left cold. When Ellen and Grace Under Fire started to make a big impact on ABC's ratings, the network retooled the Wednesday night schedule and Sister, Sister was moved back to Fridays in Boy Meets World's timeslot while Boy Meeets World was on hiatus. Sister, Sister's ratings greatly improved and it became the highest rated show on Friday nights after 20/20. Shortly after the last episode of the season aired ABC cancelled Sister, Sister along with many other high rated famiy sitcoms at the time. ABC was supposedly trying to move away from a majority of family sicoms because advetisers would not buy time during the shows because not enough adults watched the shows. Luckily the WB picked the series up a mere hours after the cancellation and the show officially started new episodes and it's third season in September of 1995.

I just bought the DVD with the Barnes & Noble gift card I got for Christmas. Watching this show takes me back to my teen years...it's kind of scary now that it's been FIFTEEN years since it debuted!! Plus I watched it from day one.

The one thing I hated was that the original background songs ("You're No Good", "Jeopardy" theme, Lisa singing along to "Car Wash") were replaced by generic instrumental crap (or the scenes were cut altogether). For almost $40 a set, they couldn't have put in the original music? It's not like this show is WKRP or The Wonder Years. BOO!!
