If you can think of a sitcom with a bad last season list it. And please comment on the shows listed. Not everyone hates these seasons. It just seems that it's the general feeling that these were bad last seasons.
**My Feelings**
I'm not a big fan of "Roseanne." I've only seen the show now and then. However, what I've seen of the final season has made me laugh. I guess it's one of those things where the show got too silly and didn't seem like the show it had been for the eight seasons before.
When I first saw the final season of "Ellen", I was kind of upset. The show had been great, one of my favorites. I didn't mind Ellen coming out, to me, the final season had a lot of things at once that brought the show down. Her friends were now only seen occasionally. She no longer worked at Buy the Book. She now lived in a home, not the apartment. Ellen was in a relationship. I actually liked her girlfriend, I just think the character of Ellen is funnier when she's single. Now, it's been ten years since the show's been off the air. Once I bought the DVDs, I realized that the season was funny. It still had it's flaw, but I no longer hate it the way I did.
As for "That '70s Show", I always liked the final season. Even though there was no Eric and Kelso, and Fez was completely exaggerated, I still found it funny. I guess it's like the Roseanne thing. It sillier than it used to be, but still funny to me. I'm not a big fan of the Randy-Donna relationship, but I don't mind Randy as one of the gang's friends. So while most people still hate the final season, I don't.
I haven't seen the final season of "Laverne & Shirley" in years. It amazes me that they would do the show without Shirley, but whatever.
"NewsRadio" is my all-time favorite show. While I liked the final season less than the others when it was new, over time I have come to appreciate it. I don't even mind Jon Lovitz anymore. So to me, this is a show that stayed good from beginning to end. Even though online most people seem to hate the show once Phil Hartman died and Jon Lovitz came.
Much like with "Laverne & Shirley" I'm surprised they did "Chico and the Man" without Chico. I actually kind of like the final season. It lost a LOT when Freddie Prinze died. There was sort of an empty feeling that last year. But I still got to see Ed and Louie. And Raul had his moments too.
Different writers and some slight cast changes plagued the final season of "Welcome Back, Kotter." Vinnie was now seen only on a recurring basis, Kotter was pretty much MIA, except for about five episodes, I believe where he's there. It's a pretty bad season. I like it, for the simple fact that I'm loyal to shows I like. And there's something about it that's amazing to watch how bad it was.
