John McCain did not pick the best person to be a heartbeat away from the leader of the free world. He picked who would win him votes with the religious right and with women.

John McCain is using this woman for political gain and as a gimmick. I find that DISGUSTING and extremely OFFENSIVE.

Just a few years ago this woman was a soccer mom and a mayor! If McCain truly values "experience" and feels Obama is "not ready to lead" why would he put, as his number two, a woman with virtually zero experience?

Joe Biden, is without question, qualfied to lead our country and will give Obama all the experience he needs in any area where he may lack. Obama, unlike McCain, picked the best candidate as his number two. Obama put our country before him and his political career -- unlike McCain.

The bottom line is, John McCain is using this woman for political gain and I feel sick to my stomach about it. He's willing to put our country in jeopardy to try and win a campaign where he promises 4 more years of the last 8, failed years.

This is all sickening.

That actually crossed my mind when I found out. I mean, she's young, pretty, and relatively unknown while McCain...isn't. I figured maybe that's his way of trying to gain popularity. Maybe not, I don't know.

I don't know anything about this woman, but I can see that slimy bastard McCain using her as a gimmick.

I like how everyone's inside McCain's head and even making up quotes. Anyone ever think he believes she's qualified, and YES will help get him votes. Isn't that what politicians do, try to get votes? I read her bio, and she seems like a fantastic person. Gimmick, you want to talk gimmick, how about a one time Senator who wouldn't be considered for President if not for the color of his skin. Now, there's a gimmick for you.

8 years in the Illinois State Senate and 2+ years in Washington DC. Over a decade in the political world.
A few accomplishments:
1. Obama reformed the death penalty in Illinois by brining law enforcement and civil rights groups together to ensure innocent people do not receive the death penalty.

2. Obama passed bipartisan legislation in Illinois that gave health care coverage to 154,000 citizens, 70,000 of which were children.

3. Through bipartisan efforts, Obama helped pass the Earned Income Tax Credit, which gave over 100 million in tax cuts to families across Illinois.

4. Being a member of the Veterans Affairs Committee, Obama fought to help Illinois veterans receive their disability pay.

5. Obama played a critical role in passing the strongest Ethics legislation that has emerged from Congress.

I'm more concerned with Obama's experience on having good judgement for the role of commander-in-chief. Examples and experience of good judgement include: Opposing the Iraq War from the beginning. Pushing for a withdrawal of our troops, which is now, finally, echoed by the Bush Administration and the Iraqi government. And Obama's insistence to focus on Afghanistan, where the true threats to our country are, instead of on Iraq.

The only thing McCain has been right on is the surge. But that issue wouldn't have even been an issue had Obama been commander-in-chief and not gone into Iraq in the first place. Good judgement from our commander-in-chief, from day one, is what we need to keep our nation safe and that is exactly what Obama offers and McCain doesn't.

McCain has decided to pick someone with two years of experience -- compared to Biden who has decades of experience-- as his VP. McCain is putting our nation at risk and further proves he DOES NOT have the judgement to lead our country.

Since McCain is old, has had cancer 4 times, and the chance a VP will have to take over is more likely compared to Obama. McCain has been reckless in his choice and is putting winning over our country. That's disgusting.

You're a walking DNC Talking Point. I'll pass, thank you, lol. I come here to exchange ideas, not for a library session.

As a woman, I have mixed feelings about it. My mom and sister are pumped, but I don't know. To me, personally, it feels more like a propaganda move, but I could be wrong. We'll just have to wait and see what happens!

I'm not a McCain supporter at all. I really like Obama and so what if he's supposedly inexperienced? He has the support of Bill and Hilary Clinton as well as Ted Kennedy, so I think that he'll be just fine. I am REALLY hoping he wins and that this is not another devastating election like the last one. I had done some volunteering for John Kerry's presidential campaign and I was so sure that he was going to win. I was at work when one of our clients told me over the phone that George Bush had been re-elected, and I am completely serious when I say that I started crying. That is the first time I have ever gotten emotional over a Presidential election.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to go so off-topic. I haven't read anything about McCain's running mate, but I will. I'm sure that Biden will do a better job (and so will Obama!!)!!!!
