Hi, everyone,

We’re in the middle of shooting our most shocking Ghost Whisperer show ever — believe us, you won’t want to miss it. In order to do the episode justice, we’ve brought in some special equipment. Yesterday, we used a motion memory camera that allows a character to be in two places at once. This camera uses a special rig that remembers the exact movement of the previous shot, allowing us to form a perfect composite of the actor in two separate positions. This elaborate rig is so loud that we can’t even shoot sound while it’s running.

Speaking of visual effects, remember the Virtual World episode we told you about a few weeks ago? We’re currently in the visual effects stage of that show. Our effects guys, Art and Armen, are taking the hours of green-screen footage we shot and animating it. Since these scenes are full of stunts and action sequences, the end result will have Melinda flying and fighting her way through a virtual universe.

We have a brand new video called THE JAMIE KENNEDY GHOST WHISPERER EXPERIMENT that screened at Comic Con. It offers a sneak peak into the upcoming fourth season of Ghost Whisperer, and features Jamie... well, being Jamie.

We should also mention that Love and Camryn are looking more beautiful than ever — and our guys aren’t too shabby themselves. We’re planning a brand new gallery shoot to show them off, and we can’t wait for you to see it.

As always, thanks for reading, and remember to check in next week when we’re back on the air with "Deadbeat Dads"/Episode 316.

Since Jay Mohr is getting his own sitcom, I assume he won't be returning to
Ghost Whisperer. Or will he be doing "double duty"??

Well, I was certainly shocked by last night's episode .. in which Melinda's
beloved husband dies. But I had feared this would happen, due to the
weekly recaps that included the fortune teller's prophecy that something
tragic would happen to someone close to Melinda. I was hoping, though,
that they wouldn't go that route. This will certainly change the direction of
the show from this point on. My question is why? Were ratings so low that
they had to make such a drastic move to keep viewers tuned in?

Ratings were actually going up for GW and Numb3rs. People are not happy with this and there are a ton of comments about people threatening to quit watching this show on tvguide website if he stays dead.

i think it was a stupid move - usually a show only pulls a stunt like this when they are getting desperate, but this is really going to hurt the show.

...and of course there is no way they can "fix" it is there;I mean he's DEAD, and I'm pretty sure he's gonna stay that way. The only way they are going to be together now is if they kill off Melinda too and they may as well cancel the show unless they are planning on making Jamie Kennedy the star.

I agree and as a bigg fan of the show this has angered me...and I havent watched since then and dont plan too...this was just too stupid for words...they did this on my fave soap OLTL with a character jumping into anothers body and it was ridiculous...come on enough already!!

In last night's episode, David Conrad returned ... in another man's body. To
everyone else, he looks like someone else; but to Melinda, he still looks like
Jim (sort of like Scott Bakula's character on Quantum Leap). But, he
doesn't have Jim's memories (and very few of Sam's, the man whose body he
now possesses). Meanwhile, Sam's spirit crossed over when he died; at the
same instant, Jim took over Sam's body (as revealed in last week's episode).
So, Melinda is getting a fresh start. He didn't even recognize her, but he is
slowly remembering things. Even her skeptic friend (played Camryn Manheim)
now believes, when she found Sam/Jim waiting for her son at the playground
(where they had been playing basketball every week). It's all kind of weird,
but I guess anything is possible in the realm of sci-fi/fantasy (even reincarnation). I don't know how most of the fans are going to react to this
drastic move, though. We'll have to wait and see. For what it's worth:
David Conrad made this week's TV Guide "Hot List" ... not bad for a
dude who is dead!
