I remember an All In The Family episode where Archie gets stuck in an elevator with a few people and one of them is a pregnant woman. Naturally, she goes into labor but Archie didn't deliver the baby; the others in the elevator did. I think Archie was about to pass out. :faint: :lol:

I think the same woman who played the pregnant lady in the AITF episode was the same actress who played the expectant mother in the Barney Miller episode ("Happy New Year", Season 2).

Benson and Gov. Gatling delivered 2 babies - Denise's baby in the elevator, and the woman who was stuck with them in the cabin in the first season episode "Snowbound". Come to think of it, I think Wojo also delivered 2 babies.

On Taxi, Alex Reiger (Judd Hirsch) told of how he delivered a baby in his cab (flashback). Mandy Patinkin played the father. They named the baby Alex in honor of the cabbie. Shown in "Memories of Cab 804: Part 2" (Season 1).

Andy delivered more than one baby on that show, but they didn't show it. In the reunion movie in 1986, he had to deliver Opies wifes baby, and he said "I'm the first person that most of the people born in this town saw. Even before they saw their own mother".

Dr. Quinn delivered tons of babies on Dr. Quinn because she was well...a doctor.
Sully even helped deliver their own daughter Katie in the woods.
I know Colleen helped deliver Myra's baby Samantha.

Mary Tyler Moore Show - Lou and Mary deliver Ted and Georgette's baby - Mary Lou - in Mary's bedroom.

Night Court - Harry, Christine, Bull, and a cop deliver babies in a hurricane. Christine has her baby in an elevator in another episode, it never said whether Buddy (Harry's step-father) or the other man delivered it.

Charlie's Angels - Kelly delivers a baby in an unwed mothers home.

Magnum P.I. - I think Higgins delivers twins in one episode.

Amen - on the series finale, Reuben delivers his own son.

Growing Pains - Jason delivers Chrissy and delivers another baby on the plane.

Actually it was Martin who delivered the baby when the woman who was driving their taxi went into labor. Frasier & Niles....well, they "helped".:D

In fact, it was mentioned that Niles helped by going down to a falafel stand and getting some warm water!!

Actually, the topic is asking what characters on TV shows took part in the delivery of a baby on a show. You know, like if a doctor isn't there and the character has to step in, coach and deliver the baby themselves.
