Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell didn't just complete Heath Ledger’s final film role — they're also donating their pay to the Dark Knight star's daughter.

The three actors played versions of Ledger's character, Tim, in director Terry Gilliam's fantasy epic The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus.

Gilliam, 67, said the actors' decision was "extraordinary! And wonderful."

"And when you’re part of that, you think, ‘Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people,’" Britain's The Sun newspaper quoted him saying.

"And we’ve got a movie full of wonderful people who did extraordinary things to help," he added.

Ledger, 28, died in January from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. He had not yet updated his will to include 2-year-old Matilda, his daughter with Brokeback Mountain co-star Michelle Williams.

While that was a very nice thing to do, I'm sure that Michelle Williams has enough money to give Matilda everything she needs and more. I think they should have donated money to a charity instead, in Matilda's name if needs be. It just seems wasteful to give the money to a family who aren't likely to be struggling to make ends meet in the future.

That's true, but hopefully her mom will use it for a college fund or something. That's very nice of Heath's co-stars to do this. He would be touched, I'm sure!
