It all started a two months ago, when my mom started getting pain in her arm. Then numbness. Each day, another finger got numb and her upper arm. We FINALLY convinced her to go to the ER. They took her in quickly, put her in the hallway, told her she wasn't having a stroke, and discharged her, saying they didn't know what it was. So she called her doctor that Monday (since she went to the ER on Friday) and made an appointment. They were very rude and dismissive. You have to know my mom. It takes a LOT to get her to go to the doctor! So they made her an appointment in 3 weeks. That appointment was yesterday. She got into the doctor's office and the doctor was shocked by how numb and serious this really was. She ordered stat MRI and stat CT Scan. She went for those after the appointment. Well, she just called and told me she got the results. She has a lesion in her neck. She has to have more stat tests done this afternoon, including a MRI of her spine. They said it could be something simple and easy to fix, or it could be a mass. I know how my mom's been suffering and in pain, and just have a feeling this isn't anything "simple". We need everyone's prayers now. I'm soo incredibly close with my mom, this is worrying me so much. Please pray for my Mom.:(

Thanks hun. :bighug: And thanks to everyone. She went to get more blood work today and Monday she has to have a lumbar puncture (she is NOT happy) and Tuesday, another MRI. I'm trying to stay positive and I am around here, since two members of my family have cried around her already and it made her feel worse...but when she isn't around, I'm a mess.

Well we got the results today. My mother has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It isn't the best news we wanted to hear but we know it could've been so much worse. The numbness in her arm turned out to be a good thing. That is a symptom of the MS and the doctors found it early and put her on medication which will control it for awhile.

I'm sorry that she has MS, I have an Aunt who has it, but like you said, it could be much worse. I'll keep your mother and your family in my prayers. :bighug:
