Character actor Paul Sorensen, who appeared in hundreds of TV shows and feature films, frequently playing a police officer, died July 17 in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif. He was 82.

Sorensen had a recurring role on "Dallas" as Andy Bradley, a member of the oil cartel. Other recurring roles included "The Brady Bunch," "My Three Sons" and "Barnaby Jones." He appeared in features including "Escape to Witch Mountain" and "Hang 'em High."

After returning from serving in the Korean war, Sorensen got his start when an agent signed him after seeing him appear in a production of "Born Yesterday." His first TV role came shortly thereafter in 1954 in a series called "Stories of the Century."

He made his mark in TV Westerns including "Rin Tin Tin," "Cheyenne," "Wagon Train," "Have Gun Will Travel," "Gunsmoke," "Rifleman," "The Virginian," "Big Valley" and "High Chaparral."

Some of the other shows he appeared on from the 1950s to the 1980s include "Mary Tyler Moore," "The Rockford Files," "The Mod Squad" and "My Favorite Martian."

Born in Kenosha, Wisc., Sorensen moved to Hollywood in 1945 and attended the Pasadena Playhouse. He graduated in 1947 and was honored several years ago with the Playhouse's lifetime achievement award.

With 24 other Hollywood actors, he founded the Orchard Gables Repertory Theater group, which Time magazine called "an oasis in the heart of Hollywood."

Sorensen and his wife of 45 years, Jacqueline May, went on to run The Original Actors Workshop. After retiring from acting, Sorensen, his wife and their son Christian were all ordained as ministers.

He is survived by a sister, two sons and a grandson.

How sad. He was a great character actor. It's too bad he didn't have as big of a role as Jordan and Marilee. R.I.P. Paul. :(

:rip: Great actor. I agree, too bad his role wasn't bigger. He was memorable though.

IMDb had him on the list of people that died in 2007 but I never could find a verifiable source so I didn't post it then.

When did he die? What year? 2007 or 2008?

As far as I know, 2008. I checked IMDb again and his name was removed from the 2007 list.

A couple pictures of Paul. The first one is him and Don Starr as Jordan in 1986. That was his last appearance. The second is a picture of all 3 members of the Cartel.
