26 episodes at 30 minutes each including the live commercials. Since this show was done live from New York these will be kinescopes but this is how shows should be released with their original sponsor openings, closings and commercials. To bad they won't do this for other shows on dvd like I Love Lucy, Make Room For Daddy, and The Andy Griffith Show or any other show. All shows should be seen as originally broadcast. Kudos to Image Entertainment for doing this the correct way.

I agree, it would be very special to see those shows with original openings, etc. all intact. I have a few Ozzie & Harriet eps on DVD with original content and it makes for a really nice experience.
It wasn't all that long ago when Mister Peepers was thought to be a "lost" series. Kudos to those who worked to rescue it from oblivion.

Allegedly, when all of the kinescopes were found in a warehouse,
the show was supposed to go into syndication - but there was
such little interest it never happened.
By the way, the reason MOST shows don't include the commercials
intact is the huge licensing fees for some ads, especially those with
jingles.

I remember when TV Guide announced Mister Peepers was being syndicated and then I wondered why it never showed up anywhere.
One of these days I'll rent a DVD or two to see if it's something I will like watching.

Season two of MR. PEEPERS is great. All episodes
are intact with the original REYNOLDS ALUMINUM
commercials. AND, unlike the first volume, these do
NOT have the UCLA FILM LIBRARY bug/logo
appearing in the episodes. Some nice BONUS items, too.

LOTSA LUCK. Keep 'em coming, Arny!!!!!
Wally Cox stars as Mister Peepers, a shy science teacher at Jefferson Junior High. Although easily baffled and befuddled, Peepers' naiveté shelters him from the harsher realities of life, allowing him to find endless joy in the wonders of nature that he shares with his students. Luckily, he has some good friends to help him along, including Harvey Weskit (Tony Randall), whose bluster and bravado more than make up for Peepers' timidity. At school, Mister Peepers has his anxious colleague Mrs. Gurney (played to comic perfection by Marion Lorne) to look after him. Mister Peepers is surrounded by a gaggle of mothers, girlfriends and relatives all intent on guiding our guileless hero through every day life... whether he asks them to or not! Although Peepers' polite attention to the wants and wishes of others often results in comic hi-jinx, it also always reveals Peepers as the thoughtful, warm-hearted character who has endeared himself to television audiences for years.

I just started watching season 2 and I have to say that the picture quality is vastly improved over the season 1 set. Not that I minded it that much but for those who do, they really cleaned these up beautifully. It is one of those lost classics from the early days of TV and it's very fortunate that enough episodes survived. Hopefully this will sell and they can finish off the releases of the remaining episodes. Of the 127 made, 102 still are known to exist. From that time period, that's a pretty good ratio.

I just received this and it is awesome. It is like a time capsule in that the show is complete with commercials and closing logos with PSA's as well. This is the correct way to do this. Being a fan of Wally Cox I had always wanted to see this show and really enjoyed the first set as well as this one. Hopefully more is on the way. Proper thanks must go to Arny Schorr for the great job he did on this set.

FYI, the set was released in slim packaging. I just got it the other day.
Amazon shows the rerelease as a 1 disc set and even shows the first volume cover art, but it is 4 discs and has the cover art of the original "second season" release. Amazon also shows a runtime of 680 minutes and the actual product shows a runtime of 780 minutes.
Here is the link to the rerelease http://www.amazon.com/Mister-Peepers-Season-Tony-Randall/dp/B008KJZJCW/ref=sr_1_3?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1357497698&sr=1-3&keywords=mister+peepers
AFAIK it is just slim packaging
