Finally we are getting another classic b&w show on dvd. We need more of these kind of shows to be released.

I've never seen TDRS before. I've always loved Shelley Fabares from Coach and her song "Johnny Angel" (which she first performed on TDRS) and look forward to seeing her as a teenager. I hope she and the Peterson siblings will participate in DVD extras!

Any reports on if there is music replacement or if the episodes are uncut?

Hopefully they wont drop the ball on this one like with My Three Sons. By that I mean not using original music, and editing episodes. These shows should be presented as they were when they first aired back in the day.
We know network TV sure as hell aint going to do that.

Nick at Nite showed this for at least 6 years. That where I first saw it when I was around 12.

It's important to support this release, not only if you love The Donna Reed Show but if you also love The Patty Duke Show.
Both shows are under Sony now (I'm not quite sure how Sony ended up with the rights to The Patty Duke Show but that's the way it is)
Sony doesn't do a release of Donna Reed on their own label but licenses it out to a second label. I think it's because Donna Reed is not remembered in the same way Bewitched or I Dream Of Jeannie is. Also it's in Black and White.
If the Donna Reed show does well in this fashion, it will probably not only get additional Donna Reed seasons released it would bode well for The Patty Duke Show to get released under the same paradigm.

I'm not a Donna Reed fan, the show isn't my cup of tea so I don't plan to buy the DVD. But good thing for fans of the show that season one will soon be available.
