Update on Joseph Prushinowski

I have tried in the past to find info about him but apparently was spelling his name one letter off. I was able to find several blurbs about him all pretty much saying the same thing. The most recent I could find was that after 13 years on the run he was finally captured in Israel in 2000. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison.

For those of you who don't remember his name right off, he was the Hasidic Jew wanted for International Bank Fraud who stole around $200 million from banks. He was thought to have given a large portion of his gains to Hasidic communities. He was apparently nicknamed the "Robin Hood Rabbi" because of this.

I'm pretty sure one of the last lifetime airings of this case had a text update at the end of the segment stating he'd been caught.
