It's because of the writer's strike. A lot of shows suffered because of it, and some didn't even come back!!! At least Reaper is coming back!! It may come back full season next year, who knows?

I wish BTY would come back for midseason. :( Consider yourself lucky. If ratings are good those episodes could be expanded.

I'm just glad they didn't cancel it like so many other shows. Wonder what show will be in its Tuesday night time slot at the start of the new season?
