Victory Gardens, anyone?

With food prices going high beyond belief, maybe it's time the idea of the old Victory Garden be revived seriously among citizens in the US. My grandparents certainly were big believers in gardening and I was raised knowing how to do them. My stepdad works part-time helping a nun plant and harvest, so he brings home some of the rewards--it sure helps out!

That's a good idea - growing your own fruits & veggies. Not only is it cheaper, you are not exposed to the sprays and chemicals. I seriously think more people should do this and I'm sure we will before too long.

that's a very smart idea! we actually have a bunch of trees in our backyard that are wonderful. lemon, grapefruit, figs, berries and some other ones that haven't fully developed their fruit. but it's a lot easier as well to be able to just go out into our backyard and pick a lemon. instead of going to the market and having to remember to buy lemons. lol.
