What a fun episode! Clever script. But who is THAT Clara Randolph?? That is not my beloved Mary Jane Croft! Do we eve get to see Thorny's wife, Katherine or is she forever one of those "mystery spouses"? :D Since the theme of this episode is the ballet, this one might make a good double bill with "The Ballerina" (also in this set).
OH Nuts!

Just finished watching The Ballet. Yes, the woman who plays Clara is nowheres near as good or funny as our beloved Mary Jane as 'ol screechy voice. (And BTW Mary Jane is to die for as Lucy's seatmate in my fav I Love Lucy ep "Return Home From Europe") Also, in all the Thorny eps I've never seen Katherine either. I have one or two where I've seen Sally Darby, Shirley Williams and Mr. Kelley's wife. But NEVER Katherine.
What is nice about this 100 ep set is that many have commercials, which I always enjoy. And that bargain price of 29.5 cents for each Listerine toothpaste works out to $2.36 in 2008 dollars.
The Ballet ep was cute & I enjoyed it but my real favs are Season 4 on. Glad Ozzie and Harriet did patch things up abt their misunderstanding over the ballet & that this is about as wild a fight as they ever have. (1870 bathing suits...pretty saucy huh :) ) All in all, the fight's pretty tame. And that wheeler dealer policeman gave me a chuckle (Wonder if he's a relative of Mr. Haney from Green Acres LOL)
Just now was the 1st time I saw The Ballet. Don't know how I overlooked it til today. Generally, not a big fan of the VERY EARLY eps but I always see them at least once. One of the few early eps I truly liked was "Ozzie's Night Out." Wished Mill Creek had included it.
Really, for the price, this 12 DVD set is just awesome. A lot of my favs are there!
I love discussing the eps. Have you seen a lot of the O & H eps already? I think I'm going to start a thread myself on one.

I don't believe Thorney's wife, Katherine, was ever shown. I think they did show his son a few times. The wife and son were mentioned often in many of the shows.

I've watched a few on disc 1, but haven't got to a lot yet, I've got too much to watch (I also BW season 6 and the FKB set I'm working on, plus old movies from Netflix). Go ahead and start threads--I'll eventually get to them!
